Trouble Erasing Route from FMC

Featured Replies

I'm requesting some help in figuring out how to erase/replace an existing route from the FMC. I input a route from, say, KPHL to KBOS, and then decide to change my destination to KIAD while still on the ground. Attempting to DELETE KBOS gives an INVALID DELETE message on the scratchpad. I can enter KIAD in the scratchpad and replace KBOS with KIAD and EXECUTE, but the old route to KBOS is still there on RTE pg 2, as well as on the LEGS page (the STAR and ILS waypoints for KBOS are erased, but enroute waypoints remain). Short of deleting waypoints one at a time on the LEGS page, or one entry at a time on the RTE pg 2, I can't seem to delete the original route to KBOS. Yes, I could set up KPHL to KIAD as RTE2 and activate that, but I'd like to know if there is a way to delete the original KPHL to KBOS route. Thanks! Rushad E

Easy, replace KPHL ... even with KPHL if that's what you want!

You can't delete the airports like that - just click the key next to the origin twice and that'll reset the route. (assuming you want to still depart the same place)
