September 29, 201114 yr I crashed twice this weekend flying when the NGX was thrown into a turn that was so far outside its bank angle that the plane lost AP control and manual intervention was needed. Throughout this flight, the plane was also fish tailing it all over the sky. I was flying in the Pacific Northwest where the weather was blustery and windy throughout the region. High tail winds and cross winds from the rear quadrants of the plane caused very erratic auto pilot flying behavior.Certainly not like flying ont he real thing (I fly as a passenger on Alaska Air about 60K miles a year - and the plane never fishtales in cruise) What settings in ASE should I back down please to get to more stable AP behavior. I don't have this problem with REX, which is a bit counter to other experiences here on this forum. Thanks. Colin WareSeattle
September 29, 201114 yr Commercial Member It's more that you need to use the weather smoothing options of the registered version of FSUIPC. I never found a way to avoid this problem using ASE alone and finally broke down and paid for FSUIPC. Now I only see the issue one flight in 15 or 20 or so. Noah Bryant
September 29, 201114 yr Hi Colin, ASE is a great weather program and I use it on all my FSX flights with DWC and I do have my ASE settings at nominal real world conditions. Now having said that I also have FSUIPC registered which gives me wind and visibility smoothing. I fly with the LDS 767 and I never get the rapid wind problems that you have experienced. My recommendation is pay the small cost of FSUIPC and enjoy flying your 737NGX. Bob
