October 2, 201114 yr I'm just wondering why in a crosswind the nose of the aircraft on the HUD is shown pointing away from the direction of the wind instead of into it ? I'm puzzled because it just does't look right. Other than this I don't see any other problems. Richard Lecki
October 2, 201114 yr Because it's judging your yaw versus your actual direction.I made sense out of nonsense
October 2, 201114 yr I haven't noticed that. The nose points into the wind, and the flight path vector points in the direction of flight. Are you getting mixed up, and thinking that the flight path vector is the nose?
October 2, 201114 yr Author I think I was getting mixed up looking at the flight path vector as the nose...I 'll go fly now & look for the nose indicator ( is there one?). I just started using the HUD.
October 2, 201114 yr Yes. Looks like a horizontal shape with a V in the middle. Oh and it's called aircraft reference symbol. PS Sign your full name in here at all times.
October 2, 201114 yr Author Oh, yes, I can see it clearly now...Thanks for the pointers ( don't mean "nose pointers" here, ha, ha). Just kind of looked strange to me at first. Thanks again - Richard Lecki
