Panel question

Featured Replies

How would I go about changing the default head to panel view. Many times I get into a plane and I amsitting to close to the panel (this is for vc panel) so I us the zoom in or out to get to the right distance. Iwould like to make a permanent change to the view so it is always the same distance from the panel.I hope this an understandable question. There must be a line in the panel.cfg that will do this. Thank you for any help.

Must there be? Sorry, but there isn't really. The only zoom setting is for the 2d panel.

Hi, It's actually in the aircraft.cfg file - eyepoint= Hope this helps,
That entry has no "zoom factor" so it may very well not help a bit, Tom. Moving the eyepoint back on the y-axis may well put the eyepoint into the headrest of the seat, making the vc "unclickable..." ...which would only raise more questions and/or aggravation. That's why I didn't suggest it since the OP specifically stated that changing the default zoom factor was satisfactory. The precise zoom factor (among a host of other settings) is actually written to the "previous flight" file, as well as one's "default flight" file.

He asked about the "default head to panel view" - that is the eyepoint value. While he used the zoom to try to fix it, that is actually not the correct solution. However, I agree that moving too far back can result in an unclickable VC. :)
