October 5, 201114 yr 2004 flight sim was missing something so I removed and reinstalled it and every thing seems to work except all planes with brakes will not release with numb er one button or ctrl + . ,I just cant find out what is causing the brakes to stay on, I loaded the sim on my laptop and it's the same thing the brakes won't release, any help thanks
October 6, 201114 yr Have you checked your keyboard assignments after the reinstall? (Go to settings / assignments.) CTRL+. should of course default to operating the parking brake and as Rafal has said . should operate the toe brakes - and also release the parking brake if it's applied. If those are shown in your assignments then I'd say you might have a problem with your keyboard - except for this happening on a laptop too. Joystick buttons also have default settings IIRC but I can't remember what the one for button 1 is - mine's been set to increase flaps for longer than I can remember. Maybe also worth trying...- changing the keyboard assignment for brakes (eg CTRL+, and , aren't used for anything, by default) or- mouse-clicking on the parking brake on the panel / throttle quadrant (for models that have that). If the second of these (especially) doesn't work then you've got a very weird problem.
October 6, 201114 yr Just one other thing .In "assignments" in the section where you can set "brakes" ( ".") there is a slider with a repeat option on my setup this slider is full to the right.Further down the assignments page there is the option " Parking brake set" appears to be CTRL +. ( Not sure if that's default) however that slider "repeat" in this case is fully left.Try adjusting those as I have described.I have also had PB trouble in the past and these settings will usually sort it out.Have a fiddle you should sort it.Andy PS you could always try the option (also on the assignments page )to "reset defaults" as well. Fiddling with these various assignment option settings is your friend .
