October 16, 201114 yr Hi, I've enabled Bloom effect on FSX, DX 9. The strange thing is that in virtual cockpit I can't see the effect through the front glass but if I look through the left window I can see Bloom effect is applied. If I move my head (with track ir) "outside" the front window I can see the Bloom effect , it's like the front window glass inhibit Bloom Effect. In outside view I can see bloom but in a particular view (on top of rudder tail) I can see bloom applied only on both side left and right, but in the center there is no bloom. This happens with 737 NGX and other standard FSX liners but not for example with standard FSX Cessna, Extra 300 S etc.. Have you ever experienced such thing? You can see Bloom only on the left with 737 ngx VC You can see Bloom only on left&right with 737 ngx outside view You cab see as if I "go out the glass" with track-ir I can see bloom in front You can see Bloom works ok with standard FSX Cessna
October 16, 201114 yr I have exactly the same thing, and I would love to see the bloom effect from the NGX's cockpit :( Arjen Vandervelde
October 16, 201114 yr I love bloom effect for taking outside A/C pictures, but find myself having to click it off right afterwards due to: 1.) FPS loss, yep, the little 2-5 FPS loss I really needed on my PC2.) I can see the effects sometimes THROUGH the cockpit, like the solid panels and such....which kind of turns me off of the whole thing, as I have never seen sun glare shine through the dashboard on my car...lol William Sequeira
October 17, 201114 yr I had the bloom effects (DX10 preview) active for years, I disabled it few days ago to have 2fps more :) . I had no problems with them also on pmdg and liked the effects on the HUD. Probably i will restore the effect as 2 fps are not too much noticeable. Regards Andrea Daviero

Yes but with DX10 preview there are other annoying troubles like flashing or disappearing runway markings, lines etc... right? Could be possible for PMDG make Bloom effect available on 737 NGX??
October 18, 201114 yr Yes but with DX10 preview there are other annoying troubles like flashing or disappearing runway markings, lines etc... right? Could be possible for PMDG make Bloom effect available on 737 NGX??Yes, but depends on airport afcad. My favourite airports doesn't suffer of that problem as I edited afcad files to solve the problem. Regards Andrea Daviero

October 18, 201114 yr Bloom for me is a FPS killer i mean it works and i can run fsx but i get much smoother performance with it off, shame really it just gives FSX that much more
October 18, 201114 yr Interesting...Could you explain what editing on tha afcad? Is there any guide available?there are programs like airport design editor or airport facilitator x that are able to edit, modify, create an entire airport (runways, taxiways, parkings, aprons...)What I found wrong on most default scenery airports is that taxiways and runways are multilayered, that means that on DX10 preview the flickering is due to the taxiway layer that is under the runway. The solution is to edit the taxiways in a mode that will prevent any part of the taxiway tarmac to goes into the runway. In this video you can see that I've no flickering with a default runway (only textures are edited). Bloom are disabled in the video, but maybe I will restore it soon.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZhWnfiNbN4About manuals, afx is simple to use, you can learn it by practice on airports without saving them Regards Andrea Daviero
