October 18, 201114 yr Hello. Is it possible to have the X Gauge display or "show" on top of another gauge that at the moment it is over ridden by the other gauge? Thanks.Dennis Dennis Elliott
October 18, 201114 yr Commercial Member Hello Dennis, You should be able to change the location of the gauges to avoid them being over the top of each other, but other than that, perhaps ordering the gauge differently (use a different number for insert, or try append mode). There may be some manual panel.cfg configuration edits you can make as well to get things to display the way you want based on order. Does this help? Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 19, 201114 yr Author Thanks Damian. No not really, but it's ok. I am trying to "cover up" another gauge (Weather Radar). You see I have weather radar "imbedded" in the VC of many of my planes so it displays in one of the gauges in the VC cockpit but to operate it I have to have the "real" gauge on my other monitor, but I just need to see the controls, not the display,so I was hoping I could increase the value of x gauge so it would sit on top and block out the display and save some room at the same time. I thought it was a "Zorder" number that I could change but have not found it yet.On a different subject, I upgraded to ASE last night, and I was wondering if I need to install SP3? It performs well but the sky sometimes "flashes"overhead and I would like to stop this. Thanks for your help.Dennis Dennis Elliott
October 19, 201114 yr Commercial Member Hi Dennis, Hopefully someone else with experience with panel configurations can help with the setup you're trying to achieve. I would have thought that ordering via the gauge # in the panel.cfg would achieve this, but I have never tried to order 2 gauges on top of each other like that. SP3 is B647, confirmed at the lower left corner of the main screen. If you have an earlier version you can update via www.hifitechinc.com (downloads button). Sky flashing overhead sounds like "Standard" depiction mode... this is a known effect. You can use the other depiction modes to eliminate this behavior. Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 20, 201114 yr Author Thanks Damian.Yes changing to smooth cloud transitions has solved that problem, thank you. I am now very happy with ASE. I stuck with ASX for as long as I could because it has always worked fine, but the new version is just great so far and with such a generous discount, how could I resist.I will spend some time reading the manual now and find out about all the new features. Thanks for your help. All the best.Dennis. Is B647 the same as Build 647 because that's what I have. Dennis Elliott
October 20, 201114 yr Commercial Member Yes, sorry, B647 and 647 are one in the same (B meaning Build). Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 20, 201114 yr Author One more question. Can I still use X Graphics with ASE?Thanks.Dennis Dennis Elliott
October 23, 201114 yr Commercial Member Yes, any and all graphics add-ons can be used with ASE. Please see the "Graphics" section in the manual for more information. Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
