I noticed this when I tried the" Vertical Sync Adaptive" (half refresh rate) in nVidia control panel. Everything looked fine but the mouse lag was so bad that I went back to "Use 3D application saetting". Dennis

Denco The most important "Tweak" for me regarding X-Plane is to turn OFF Threaded Optimization in the nVidia control panel. I think you will find that stuttering will be a thing of the past. I updated my video drivers a while ago and the stuttering was back until I remembered to do this again. All the best. Dennis

First, if this is the wrong forum for the post above , my apologies. The culprit in this instance was my "IndieVolume" program. I have had it for years and works fine,however with the TGS {taxi guidance system) in PFE, it caused this problem when the voice was directed to the head set,so after directing it back to speakers,all is well again. Hello. I have developed a problem. When using MCE along with PFE as I have done for a long time , when I am taxing to the runway,following the nice verbal directions from the PFE taxi guide feature. when I reach the holding point and am told to contact tower,FSX goes to the task bar,and I am looking at the desk top. It has never done this before. If I don't use MCE,all is well. and everything continues on as normal,but with MCE active, I get this "crash" to the task bar. I have installed new graphics and sound drivers,and re installed both MCE and PFE, but it has made no difference. Have you any idea what could be causing this? I have been trying to figure this out all day,but I have run out of ideas. Hope you can help me. Thanks. willywonka. I have set my sky max pro settings back to low overcast,but I have not encountered this grey band yet. If I do I will take a screen shot and then change the settings back to high to see if that fixes it,but until then it just may be a coincidence. I will post back if get this grey band again. Dennis

Hi Guys. I had this a few weeks ago and it turned out to be my SkyMax Pro setting "Overcast quality" was set to low. I changed it to high and the grey bar was replaced with some wonderful overcast. I think medium will work too.Give it a try if you are using SMP. Dennis

I changed the point of view (thanks Denis) but no change,but what I did notice is if I hit the "Alt" key to get the menu bar, I get the "Hand" to show,,,and I can use it just one time,and then it's gone again (menu bar still showing) if I press Alt again I can see the hand again,but if I use it or press a joystick button,it is gone again. Jim. Yes it's strange,if I activate the fixer so that it is in DX 10 mode (this automatically sets DX10 Preview in FSX) the pointer doesn't change to a hand, (and this only happens in full screen mode ....in windowed mode everything is fine!) In DX9 mode all is well. So until I figure this out I really can't use Steve's fixer. I have run out of ideas at the moment. Thanks. Dennis

Hi. I have just installed Steves fixer (v2.9) and I notice that with it active the cursor in the PMDG NGX remains just a pointer,does not change to a hand when turning knobs,but with the fixer disabled it works fine. I have checked and compared the settings with my old computer which worked fine but still the same problem on this new one. Any ideas? Thanks. Dennis

Richard. If want your RC4.3 voices to come out of a headset,you can get a program called "Indie Volume" With this you can direct any sound you wish to come from your headset and you should have no problem hearing ATC at all. I use a single ear piece set from Cyber Acoustics and find this to be very realistic. Just a thought. Dennis

O K. The fix for this problem was to go into the nVidia Control panel and change "Threaded Optimization" from auto to OFF. That fixed it. It was a solution I found elseware on this forum. Just wanted to let you know it is resolved. Thanks. Dennis

Robert. I can't thank you enough for the tip to turn off Threaded Optimization. I have been having a horible time with X=Plane since I got it a couple of weeks ago. No matter what my settings in X Plane were set to, when I got to my destination,the airport would be nothing more than a field, no runway at all,and the surrounding scenery was totally devoid of any features It was always fine when I took off,but on landing there was nothing there. I was just about to give up on X Plane when I saw your tip in the Video cards and drivers section of the forum and I gave it a try. Wow! what a difference! Airports are now displaying as they should,and silky smooth performance and the frame rate is very good now too. I am using the latest drivers (347.25) and they are just fine now with Threaded Optimization turned off,but I have taken note of the 337.88 drivers recomendation just in case. Hi guys. I am running XPX Global,and I normally put disc 1 in my drive before I start X Plane,but this time I forgot to do so and just fired up X Plane as normal. Everything seemed to run as it usually does. Do I not need to put disc 1 in the drive when running X Plane? I did not see any warnings that X Plane was in demo mode. Thanks. Dennis

It seems to be O K now? I am not sure what made the difference but I changed my display... "objects"and "roads" ...to ."some" or "low"...(both were on zero before), and then I deleted my "Scenery_packs.ini" file ,and when I checked it later it had changed the order of things. I think my "Global atrports" were being over written and not re loading during the flight. Not sure really,but it's working fine now. Thanks for the help guys. Dennis

Well, it is still doing it,very dissapointing after a flight to have this happen all the time. I have tried all kinds of settings but it makes no difference. I have fired off an e mail to support to see what they come up with. I will report back if it gets fixed. Dennis

Hi All. I have noticed on a few occasions that when I land at an airport that is usually quite detailed, that there is just grass runways in between two taxiways and no detail at all, yet if I reload the plane at that airport, all is back to normal. What can I check to fix this? The only thing I have added is "Open Scenery x" which appears at the top of the Scenery_packs.ini Thanks. Dennis

Hi All. I am quite new to X Plane but I am seeing a constant movement in the views I have set,as if the pilot was moving his head around all the time,just enough to make it difficult to manipulate the switches. Am I missing something in the settings that would cause this? I have X Camera installed,but even with that uninstalled I still get this movement. Any ideas? Thanks Dennis O K I found out what was causing this,I must have clicked on "Toggle Cinema Verite" when I first got X Plane installed. I was probably pushing all sorts of buttons and features to see what they did. May be I should have read the manual first !!?? Thanks Dennis

Hi. If you install FSX or any program for that matter on a different drive to your OS,does that program still show up in the "Add / Remove programs" or "Uninstall a program" or is there another way to uninstall it when the time comes? Thanks. Dennis
