  1. Thanks for that, so it's not just me. OK, the issue I have is that I can only steer on the ground using the yoke. ( Saitek pro yoke, rudder pedals, all the panels ) This has been during the last two flights and don't remember this as a problem before. The software is the latest update at 1.2. What I see is the rudder pedals not moving in the cockpit except when toe brakes applied, What I see in exterior view is all control surfaces moving including the rudder and as they are and reacting in flight. But, no ground steering by rudder control except using differential braking. After spending a couple of hours checking Saitek movements and calibration I changed to another aircraft ( Cessna 150) and all movements including rudder steering as normal. so the problem is with the Commanche 250 and not Saitek. The only theory I could come up with is there is a simulated mechanical problem when the aircraft is pushed back and the rudder works but the steering fails. Far fetched? A2A put so much into this aircraft that it's quite possible. Anyway, I'll have another bash at contacting A2A unless, of course, they see this missive. Appreciate your help BBCM and Jazz. Regards, Richard.
  2. Has anybody had problems with login to A2A.? I have tried to describe an issue with the Commanche 250, I have logged in , clicked to start a new topic and it sends me back to login page depite showing I am already logged in.Totally frustrating.
  3. Thanks for the start up tips gentlemen, Just a bit wary about flattening the battery.
  4. Seems others have struggled to key start as I have so, how many strokes of the primer are needed without flooding the carb. and what is the throttle setting? Quarter open? Would love to get this right so would appreciate some help. Cheers.
  5. CTD occurs after completing flight and going back to World Map so, my apologies to FSRealistic and any other software developers.
  6. I'm sure the CTD I get has been after installing FSRealistic, particularly the latest update. Switching FSRealistic off before end of flight stops the CTD
  7. Hi all, I have a EVGA GTX 660Ti running a 24" and a 23" monitor. Usually, I fly in windowed mode on the 24" and the 23" displays Opus and ProATX windows and in this configuration I have no issues. However, with the Q400 it would be good to click and slide the PFD's etc over to the 23" and so I thought I'd try it out. To a degree it worked but, the cursor has a flashing 'wait' ( I use a circle, some use a sand timer) behind it and, despite going back to windowed view, the issue remains. I wondered if anyone of you clever people have ever come across this situation and what it might indicate. The card not man enough or some other component? Appreciate your advice. Regards, Richard.
  8. Sorry for late reply for the offer Bdreher. Much appreciated but things have moved on a little. Since my last I thought I'd look into a DIY repair and in the process discovered there is an option using a trim pot available in the UK from a company called RS Components. The part is :- Bourns 3386W series Cermet Trimmer,10kohms, side adjust. The dimensions are almost exactly the same as the originals, although slightly thicker (can be filed down) The slot where the lever fits in is not quite so deep and , once again, careful filing is the answer. The only caveat is having to move the pcb about and these wires are very thin. They can break at the solder so you have to be ready to re-solder them or secure their location with hot glue before too much bending around. Tools are a slim crosshead screwdriver, hot glue gun, soldering iron and modeling files. Probably have to re calibrate once back on the sim. Allow about an hour for the work to be done. Each trim pot costs £1.47 delivered free once you open an account with RS Components. There may be alternative suppliers. The fundimental problem is that a trim pot is only normally set to one position (tuning in audio equipment) and is not something that is subject to almost continual movement. Regards, Richard. p.s. I'm not an electrician by trade, just prepared to save a few bob when I can.
  9. Thanks for that Greg. I have a feeling it'll be alright although it leaves me with a bill £50.00 more than I'd hoped for! Maybe the newish quadrant will get e-bay'd to compensate. Appreciate your input. Richard.
  10. Hello good folk, Once again my Saitek yoke throttle levers have spiked yet again and, despite dismantling the pots, I'm no further forward in resolving the problem. The additional throttle quadrant next to it is fine ( a more recent addition last year). Flightstore have no throttle quadrants in stock until November and so I'm wondering if a CH throttle set would work in combination with the existing yoke and pedals. Just wondered if anyone uses this combination of controllers. Any thoughts most welcome. Regards, Richard. p.s. The spiking occured during a descent in a Majestic Q400. Power all over the place! Scary! :Raised Eyebrow:
  11. Go for it! Takes a while to get the used to after EZDOK but, well worth it. Reliability is 100% along with support but, reading the manual is a time saver by a big margin. Your patience will be rewarded. Richard.
  12. Thanks for your rapid reply Ray. As I didn't see anything obvious I thought there might be something in the inner workings that I could tamper with...... Ah well. It's just that some aircraft are a bit noisier than others and they boast of their 'sound candy' which I was hoping to take advantage of. As you say, it's a balancing act. Thanks again. Regards, Richard.
  13. Hi, Having just installed RC4.3 and tried a few flights I've noticed the voice volume of the controllers/pilot are fairly low in comparison to the FSX ATC. I've adjusted the sound levels in FSX voice to avoid hearing FSX ATC but I've also had to reduce the levels of engine and environment in order to clearly hear RC controllers whilst flying GA such as the Carenado 337 (take off particulalry) and the Duke V2 piston. The only adjustments appear to be the rate of speed controllers voice their instructions. Is there any way round this problem for my poor old ears? Help much appreciated. Richard.
  14. Duke Turbine V2 is a masterpiece! Well worth the wait in every aspect. Fantastic work done by Rob and Sean. Second to none. Richard.
