October 20, 201114 yr @Mark: Did you use the REX weather engine, or the one implemented in FSX? I use REX weather engine to download the weather updates but once done and once the clouds are installed I turn off REX and I use the FSX weather update engine set at maximum update hence every 15 minutes.
October 20, 201114 yr Yes. SP1, I hope simconnect issues are dealt with. I am not currently flying the NGX. The combination of freezes, simconnect issues and S turns is too much for me. Maybe Today -- Oct 20th
October 20, 201114 yr This only happened to me once when I lost internet connection while cursing, didn't see that, I thought it was a windy day and for some reason I was trying to land the plane @ a cross wing of 90knts, REX kept the wind speed information as per last update, after upgrading REX with the newer SPs never happened again. Alaa A. RiadJust love to fly............... W11 64-bit, MSFS2020, Intel Core i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20 Ghz 6 Cores, 2 TR HD, 16.0 GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 MB GDDR5
October 20, 201114 yr The S-turn effect is not going to get fixed. It exists in the other PMDG planes as well such as the MD-11X and the 747-400X. This is an issue with FSX Weather and the reason you do not see it with non-pmdg planes is because they are not as sensitive to its effects. There is only 2 ways I know of to get rid of the S-turn effect. Option 1: You can use Activesky Evolution with Direct Weather Control and tick off the box for turbulence in the registered version of FSUIPC. Option 2: If your not using ASE and do not have the registered FSUIPC you can Tick the box in FSX Weather tab that disables turbulence and thermal effects on aircraft. Read this tutorial and it will explain everything you need to know: http://forum.avsim.n...__fromsearch__1 I do not find REX weather very accurate and the fact that your in here complaining about it being unrealistic just proves my point. As for SimConnect PMDG stated in previous threads that the NGX generates a lot of SimConnect calls and Microsoft left them with no way to filter them. Whether they can tone it down some remains to be seen. I flew to Zurich. 85% of my flight landing included I had a cross wind of 79 knots......of course I crashed during landing. It's not impossible to land with that kind of crosswind if you have rudder pedals and are good with the Crab Maneuver. I did it when Hurricane Irene was blowing through North Carolina and had a 70 knot crosswind at KRDU. Of course nobody in their right mind would land in that kinda weather, but then again I am totally nuts and love the rush of flying through the nastiest weather I can find. Paul Deemer
October 20, 201114 yr I have the Option 2 already disabled like it says the PMDG manual. Do I have anyway to give the tutorial a try ? Thx
October 20, 201114 yr That weather they was talking about was the other day when it was windy. I am sure its probably not like that today so go ahead and fly the tutorial flight, should not be a problem. Paul Deemer
October 21, 201114 yr Mark, sorry I do not use Rex Weather so I have no experience with it and the tutorial I wrote only applys to ASE and not REX. I guess the REX Experts will have to help you with that. However you can apply the FSX.cfg change, and also the FSUIPC options if you have the registered one. If you do not have ASE or FSUIPC registered your only option for disabling the Turbulence issue would be in FSX under Weather settings. Paul Deemer
