January 24, 200422 yr Does the Autopilot control speed? If so, how do you implement it? I have read the manual. I am confused by what this button really does. In one place the manual says that speed control is manual, yet it has a speed button and I do not exactly understand the function described in the manual. (FS2004)Thanks:RTH

January 25, 200422 yr In the SPD mode, speed is controlled with pitch during climbs and descents. If too fast, the autopilot pulls the nose up, if too slow, then it pushes the nose down. The mode is used only for altitude changes.
January 25, 200422 yr Author Thanks Kevin:Makes sense, and that is exactly what the manual says, and what the aircraft does. Guess I was hopeing it did a little more. Also makes sense that you can't activate the thing when in straight and level flight. Thanks again:RTH
