October 22, 201114 yr I have two sticks of 2gb G.Skill 1333mhz rated memory. However, when trying to set it higher than 667mhz, in the BIOS, it remains at 667mhz. ??? ASRock P45TS motherboard, E8400 cpu, 4gb ram - dual channel, Windows7 CPU-Z and info from G, Skill website regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
October 22, 201114 yr I think that is just the current speed of the RAM shown in CPU-Z. Try and stress the RAM and see if it goes up. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
October 22, 201114 yr Author I think that is just the current speed of the RAM shown in CPU-Z. Try and stress the RAM and see if it goes up. What do you mean by "stressing" the Ram?? The BIOS does not seem to allow more than 667mhz.It shows 667 then follows with DDR3 1333 in parenthesis. Stepping thru the speeds it always hits 667 and that is it. regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
October 22, 201114 yr 667 is double data rate so it is 2x667=1333Actual speed is shown on the memory tab of cpuz Regards,Gary Andersen HAF932 Advanced, ASUS Z690-P D4, i5-12600k @4.9,NH-C14S, 2x8GB DDR4 3600, RM850x PSU,Sata DVD, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB storage, W10-Pro on Intel 750 AIC 800GB PCI-Express,MSI RTX3070 LHR 8GB, AW2720HF, VS238, Card Reader, SMT750 UPS.
October 22, 201114 yr Author This is my CPU-Z reading. Is the Dram Frequency really 1333mhz. Does the next lineFSB Dram 1:2 really give me the FSB multiplier? If so then I am okexcept for my need to read up on CPU-Z. Thanks,Dick regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
October 22, 201114 yr Like Gary said, it is really 1333. For double data rate (DDR3) ram you always take the dram freq shown on the CPU-Z memory time and times it by 2.
October 22, 201114 yr Author Thanks to all.... Paid $90 for an e8400 that gave 3ghz vs the old e4400 at 2ghz. Plus can now get full value from RAM! regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
