LOD RADIUS settings

Featured Replies

I normally have my LOD Radius at 5.5.....but at the new Orbx KBVS and 74S, I get a major FPS drop when looking east from KBVS towards 74S.This doesn't happen with LOD at 4.5, so I assume the two high detail airports are loading at the same time with the higher LOD

Well I'm starting to believe vram isn't directly related to VAS. I departed Vashon is (freeware ozx) with the Katana 4x, to SEA, then flew north at low level towards PAE. I picked the katana cause its rough on texture loading. At the point of touchdown at PAE my VAS was around 3.85GB and no CTD. Ironically I attempted to load the PMDG NGX and instant OOM error lol!On a positive note, the Orbx day/night switcher program seemed to help a lot. I would usually get 18-20fps (locked with ingame and limiter) with the katana near sea. With the lightpoles disabled I get around 26 constant with occsnl 30. It should be noted that VAS is reduced as well. Normally I couldn't fly for more than a few minutes with LOD 6.5 and max AG in Orbx SEA area.highVAS.jpghighVAS2.jpg
