March 5, 200422 yr I tried to get somebody to answer this over at the PMDG forum, but, so far, I have not had much luck. I'll try here. The PMDG Beech 1900 is an excellent product. It is definitely a notch or two above the default offerings. I can go on and on about how good this plane looks, flies, and even sounds. If you go to the Raytheon website and look at the exterior, cabin, and cockpit, you can see that the Precision Manuals Development Group definitely did their homework. My only problem is that the gauges in my 3D cockpit stutter and are not smooth. The instruments in the 2D mode run smoothly, but, for some reason, those on my 3D panel act as if the frame rates are about 3 per second -- although the actual framerates are fine and the outside scenery runs smoothly. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this. Thanks,RobbASUS KT400 Athlon XP 2800 333bus (2250Mhz) OCd (2500Mhz)1Gb of 3200 SDRAM128Mb Nvidia 4200tiWD Special Edition 80Gb (8meg cache)
March 5, 200422 yr Author I believe that this is a "feature" of FS2004... Many users have complained about slow update rates in the Virtual Cockpit of pretty much any airplane and the answer again and again is: "This is the way FS9 works.."BTW, have you added my Beechcraft yoke in the 2d cockpit? It may make you want to spend more time there...Search for B1900d_Yoke.zip in the Avsim library. Bert
March 5, 200422 yr Hi Bert - No I have not added the Beechcraft yoke but will definitely give it a try. Thanks for the info. The thing about the 3D stutters with the Beech 1900 is that all of my other planes do fine in 3D mode. In none of the others do I experience the stutters and those sorts of things. The pecular thing is that it just affects the gauges but not framerates in general. Robb
March 5, 200422 yr Author I wonder if the GPS is adding to the load.. it is visible in the virtual cockpit.. you might try disabling it and see if it makes a difference. Bert
March 5, 200422 yr Author I'm afraid you'll have to edit the panel.cfg file... always make a copy first(!)Go into the panel.vc folder within the B1900 folder and open up the panel.cfg file with Notepad.Look for: Note... The brackets are really square brackets..(VCockpit08)size_mm=512,512pixel_size=512,512texture=$DISPLAY8background_color=1,1,1visible=1gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0,512,512put two slashes in front of the gauge00 line: //gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0,512,512and save.
