November 2, 201114 yr When I enter: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Config no files are found.I run latest version AVG free;just one infection entry in the vault.ie:C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\wz9fe6\ESDA42X.exe.I need access to FSX Config to correct erratic functions with myCH Eclipse yoke and rudder controls. RC Simulations Bob Sidgwickhave advised me to delete FSX Config file and restart FSX which wouldrecreate a default file.Any help would be appreciated.regardsWiggins
November 2, 201114 yr Hi,Any controller functions are not stored in the FSX.cfg file so locating this file is not going to help you. Also the file is in a hidden path so that option to show hidden paths and files must be on in Windows.
November 2, 201114 yr Your controls (Standard.XML) file is to be found here:-C:Users (your username here) AppDataRoamingMicrosoftFSXControlsStandard.XML , and the fsx.cfg - here:-C:Users (your username here ) AppDataRoamingMicrosoftFSXfsx.cfgIf you cannot see the Standard.XML file OR the fsx.cfg file -........ open Windows Explorer, -->Tools -->View, scroll down to find "Hidden Files and Folders"....Under that uncheck "Don't show hidden files, folders....."..........and check "Show hidden files, folders....".When you've done that - click on the "Apply to Folders" then click on "OK" i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

November 3, 201114 yr ... and he'll remember this syntax for the next time - right??He'll then have to ask about the scenery.cfg, or the logbook.bin, or any other hidden file.Do it once and forget it. UNhide all files. Period. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
November 3, 201114 yr Commercial Member Well, if you paste it into the Run box one time it'll be there in the drop-down list the next time you need it as long as you don't clear typed URLs in IE. I wasn't trying to say unhiding hidden files was a bad idea, I made that modification myself within the first 15 min I had W7 installed (and Win95, 98, and XP too). It's just a h*ll of a lot easier than trying to drill down through W7 user home folder system where everything is disguised as something else. You might try it yourself.
