January 29, 200422 yr Just wondering if the two most recent file uploads of this great little utility are any different from the one I downloaded and have been using for the last couple of weeks? Seems like the new versions don't reference an earlier version before this week, but I know I downloaded it fromn AVSIM and have been enjoying it since...Just want to know if there have been improvements I should get:-)Best,Joel
January 29, 200422 yr There seems to be two FSAutostart programs. One is by Ken Salter and the other by Konrad Koch (sp?). I don't know what's different in the two programs.--Tom________http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg------------SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS------------ Dell Pentium 4 at 3.2GHz with 800MHz FSB 1GB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 400MHz 128MB DDR ATI RADEON 9800 Pro 21 inch P1130 FD Trinitron CRT Monitor 120GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive Sound Blaster Audigy 2 with DVD Audio WindowsXP Home Edition with Microsoft Plus! January 29, 200422 yr Ohhh, I see. I have Konrad's program. Seems to work very well so far.Anyone (Ken?) know what the difference between the programs is? Does Ken's also "quit" right after startup so as not to use any resources? In any case this is a great idea for an add-on, glad to see two talented people tackling it!Best,Joel
January 29, 200422 yr I believe that FSAutoStartup (Konrad's) will automatically start applications for you and start Flight Sim.My software also does this and:Shutdown selected servicesTerminate selected programsRestart services after you are done flyingRestart programs after you are done flyingI wrote mine to a be a fully automated game launcher - it puts your pc in a "lean and mean" state, then restores your pc back to the way you had it.
January 30, 200422 yr Hi Ken,Your program is really great and if you ever manage to include a memory defrag function as well as a dll unload function it will be one of the most valuable utitility I have seen in a longtime. A suggestion though, could you imagine a function (similar to the one in EnditAll) which would allow non experts to rely on an automatic shut down of programs and processes which are not essential. Michael
January 30, 200422 yr New version has memory defrag. See Build 3 post in this forum.Yes, I have thought about a fully automatic version which shutdown everything ;-)
