That's strange! In the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern Canada, a huge fireball was seen this morning. Turns out it was debris from a Russian missile burning up in the atmosphere. Wonder if that's what this trail could be related to?

Nope, the news said it was a Russian rocket booster burning up in the atmosphere.

I have checked with the Satellite Decay Watch webpage, and it appears that this object was very likely to have been the Blok DM3 fourth stage of a Russian Proton rocket that failed to place the Astra 1K communications satellite into its correct orbit. The decay time was calculated to be November 28.59 UT (Universal Time), and there is a note which states that there were eyewitness reports of the decay at around 14:15 UT (06:15 local time) from Washington and Oregon.Sorry guys........no UFO's today :-)Chris Low,ENGLAND.
