November 18, 201114 yr I am an avid FSX user and gave XP9 a try. One thing that bothered me was that in one of the small planes that I flew, (Cessna or Archer?) I had a really tough time gettig the autopilot radios to work, and even then I found out it was only partly simulated.I just built a new system with an i7-920 2.6 Ghz. overclocked to 4.0 ghz, 3X4 gig (12 total) of DDR3 Corsair ram, EVGA Geforce GTX 275 1792 mb gpu also overclocked to mem clock - 1200, shader clock - 1574, and core clock - 710., and Windows 7 - 64 bit with service pack 1.I can run FSX very well with some sliders only slightly turned down. Will I be able to run XP10 near max settings? If so, maybe it will be time to switch. Thanks. Tom

You won't be able to run with AS HIGH an anti alias setting as, say, a GTX 560. In all other tests, the 560ti and 275 are very close (560ti outperforming the 275 in all tests but only by a very small margin.)Depends on your add ons as well. The only other issue is power consumption. The 275 is a hungry beast for power.
November 19, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the help, Goran. I have heard from other FSX users that the GTX 560 is really good for FSX as well. Maybe I should consider getting one. Do you know of any other cards that would be better and worth getting? Tom

The higher priced cards don't offer as much bang for your back as the 560ti. If money is no object, then go all the way to the 3GB GTX 590. Down here, they're worth about $900, but you won't have to worry about another video card for about 3-5 years.I don't know much about ati. I've only used an ati card once about 6 years ago. I have heard they are a little more expensive than their nvidia equivalents. Apart from that, I have no idea.
November 21, 201114 yr A bit late here, better than never. I upgraded from a gtx275 to 560 OC Ti and noticed a massive improvement, in both xplane and fsx. Just go out and gettit. In 6 months there'll be something else out that's almost as good as a 590 for a little over $300, so just upgrade then.Edit- but I do have a 2yo 750w power supply..
