Night textures look terrible

Featured Replies

My specs are below, video card is set up per NickN's optimizations for Nvidia Inspector. I have Bojote's shader 3 installed and I also run the program Shade. My night textures look really bad, particularly when lights are on the runway and when lights are off in the VC. Wobbly lines, different colours of green and red. The NGX video monitors have random wavy lines through them. Just awful. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix ?Mark.

No this is not a colour calibration issue. I have a new LED monitor and in the daytime and during dawn and dusk it looks fantastic. I will have to post some screenshots.Mark.

Nothing wrong there, at least that I can see. Would have been better to post the full resolution pics. Lower the brightness of the displays with flood offAs for the colorful landing lights, it's how they work. It's a "hack" some developers use to make the landing lights actually light the ground, but it has this "rainbow" side effect. It still looks much better than the default lights and actually helps while taxiing in and out the gate

The photos don't show what I want. I need to figure out how to get full resolution, photos also look a lot darker than I am seeing on my screen. I am using Picasa and it limits to 800x600.Mark.

It is probably not it, but one thing you can check is that your resolution, color (32bit vs. 16bit), and refresh rate is all set the same in the Nvidia control panel and Win7 plus your resolution in FSX is the same. One time I had XP set to 16bit and Nvidia was 32bit, the night colors looked terrible.
