I've just completed a flight in the Feelthere E190 E-Jet from Quito to Loja (SETM) in Ecuador. This has been virtually impossible to do properly in FS9 as good charts for SEQU SIDs are hard to come by, and no info of any kind is available for SETM that I could find.Another problem is that in FSNav and FSC the ICAO code is SETM but in the E-Jets nav database it is SECA (i.e. Camillo Ponce Airport) for some reason. So you can't import an FS Flight plan. However I changed the ICAO code in the nd.mdb Feelthere nav database. So now you can use it if you replace the attached file and (after backing up, copy this file into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\FeelThere\ directory. Of course if you already have a later version of the nav database that won't work for you. Then you will have to edit the database yourself (in Access or Open Office Dbase). Just find the airports data file and SECA and change the contents of that field to SETM.So, for all you dauntless senior Captains, I have made a flight plan which is as close to reality as you can get. I also attach the FSnav and FS9 version so fhte flight plan. For those who don;t have FSNav, I have put some approach hints below. I found the correct RWY06 approach from a vid on Youtube where they show the Captain going through the approach plate. The TAME Feelthere E-Jet in FS9 even has the identical registration to the one in the video (although a different paint). I did it on the second attempt I have to be honest.

Some hints: Depart at approx 06:00 (less turbulence and cloud at dawn in these tropical latitudes).Use FL320 outbound- fly track 200degs from Giron - turn 215 degs at waypoint LOJ15 in FSNav, (LL11 in the FMS plan)- descend to initial altitude 14000 at 10nm from LOJ NDB (LOJ10 or LL13 in the FMS plan) and flaps 1-12000 and flaps 2 by (LOJ5) LL17- 8000 at LOJ80 (LL19) on the turn- 7000 at LOJ70 (LL23)- around 4800 ft at FF06 (LL25)Keep slow (135kt) and fully configured gear down for landing by 6100ft (about 5.5 mi LOJ on the final leg)Info on this video link shows correct  altitudes and flap settings for an E190 E Jet.I have also altered the destination airport to SECA in the flight plan so you can now import it into the E-Jet FMC. Note the descent is steep and it all happens very quicky in a jet - no comparison with a Dash 8 say.Enjoy!! Let me know how you go - screenies to prove it mind!Ray

**Please note that I edited this text quite considerably since this version but due to the Internet playing up it didn't save my latest and best version on the forum server, so you have an old version of my text (I should have backed it up anyway you get the drift....), cant be bothered to change it now. Any questions please let me know.Main thing is I can't upload the files to this forum so here are the rapidshare links to the flightplan and database files, you can always try it yourself:(Links Removed - CK)Ray

Hi ChaseApologies didn't realise. This raises a question though - I can understand the modified Feelthere nav db file being covered by copyright as it's an intrinsic part of a commercial product, but are user generated FS .PLN files also covered by copyright?Guess if anyone did want the pln files I could PM them. Ray

Ray,I'm sorry about that, you are absolutely right. Go ahead and post your files, but just not the proprietary files from feelthere.

Sincerely,

Chase

Nice video. I was hoping to see the trim setting for takeoff and landing. What setting do you use in the 190? The feelthere 190 seems to demand excessive nose up trim to me.

Thanks Chase, will do.Windycloud, - yes it would be nice to see the trim settings - I think the recommended settings for the E190 are 3.5-3.7. The density altitude at SEQU (it can be up to 17 - 19C during the day), makes take off an interesting affair as the engines on the sim will not be higher thrust rated, as the real ones will almost certainly be in the tropics and at high altitude. Maybe there's a tweak to the aircraft config file? Here's the links to the flight plans: FS9 plan = https://rapidshare.com/files/3437699787/Quito_to_La_Toma.fsnFSNav plan = https://rapidshare.com/files/3656570025/Mariscal_Sucre_Intl_to_Camilo_Ponce.PLNYou will have to mod the feelthere nav database yourselves I guess, If you need help let me know.Ray
