PMDG MD-11 or PMDG 747-400X?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I got the 737NGX on released and after using it for 4 months I am looking for something new. I have narrowed my choices to the following 2;

  • PMDG Boeing 747-400X for FSX
  • PMDG MD-11X for FSX

I don't have much time to fly in FSX (4 hours max) so which one is better. I have no FPS issues with the 737NGX. Which one would be better?Hope someone can advise me.Aaron G.

MD-11 is amazing. The 747 is a lot like the 737 (since its a Boeing). The experience would be very similar. The MD-11 is designed after a totally different concept since its a McDouglas. I highly recommend it

Thanks, I was thinking that but wanted somone else's opinion. Should I buy some McPhat textures as in the AVSIM review they mention that the quality of the PMDG repaints are poor, so should I buy the McPhat textures?

I dont really care about the external textures. I only fly the MD-11 as American Airlines, McPhat has a freeware texture for AA, which is very good of course.

The MD-11 is awesome. I have 747 as well by PMDG but the MD-11 is still used by me. The 747 is also great but it is getting on a bit now.And as someone said above why not learn a new style of aircraft. Its not that hard to learn anyway if you are concerned about that.MD-11 is just great once you understand and "click" with it, its a joy to fly and the oral alerts / systems are so cool as well.You will not regret it. And I got mine for £30 of ebay so check it out and yes it was legal.In terms of liveries the standard ones are good, the MCPhat are better but you will not be dissapointed with the standard ones.

Thanks for your opinion. I have just purchased the MD-11X from Amazon. I will give the McPhat textures a miss.Aaron G.
