February 3, 200422 yr Hi everybobyOK, I need some on advice on updating my ground and water and possibly cloud textures. What do most people use for each? I tend to fly around Europe so if there are any for this region, that would be grate :-) Alaister Kay
February 3, 200422 yr I can advise you 4 things (I got my setup like this, and very happy with it):1) Bluesphere - generally texture and cloud update - excellent thing2) Clouds - search for res3dcloudtexv4.zip or res3dcloudtexv2.zip whichever you prefer3) Water - http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=search - maybe tweaking it a bit, selecting what you would like, just try it out. This default gives pretty cool results, but I tweaked it a bit, since I didn't like some things when flying FL350.4) Various freeware terrain meshes for Europe. UK, France, I believe there's something for Germany too...look it up in the library.
February 3, 200422 yr If you are going to download some European meshes, make sure you stick to one author if possible. If you want to use the German river packages by Rainer Duda, you should get the Germany mesh by Nanouk Faitmain, I think the other meshes are a little offset.-DanielPS: I'm currently working on greener water ... it's a little tooo grean right now, but there was just a documentation on the german navy on tv ... and BOY the water is brown in the baltic sea :D
February 4, 200422 yr Hi Alaister, For clouds I recommend 32 bits fsw clouds, they have the best performance available for fs2004 and don`t need to enable render to texture like these clouds links above res3 make some problems and crash. I can`t enable render to texture, I have alot of addons render to texture should be disabled.http://fsw.simflight.com/FSWFs2k4fix.htmlBestEric

And it is both brown and green in different parts of the San Franciso Bay. Major parts of Missisipi are also brown. Your 'green' if I recall was a bit too 'nice'. If it is inland water and it is green/brown - there is no transparancy in it - it is fairly dull. However oceanic waters when they are 'green' they have this reflectivity.Water is a complicated matter .. ;-)Michael J. Michael J.
February 4, 200422 yr Hi, I just uploaded an unfinished set of my "green" textures. If you donwload, please give me feedback to [email protected] know colors aren't perfect yet, especially at dawn/dusk, and they're only DXT.You should be able to get them from mitglied.tripod.de/KDFBU/env_dxt.zip-Daniel
February 4, 200422 yr Author Cheers I'll give these a try as well :-) I take it these textures are global rather than regional? Alaister Kay
