Is my MB dead?

Featured Replies

Having an MB fail is a really sickening feeling. When it happened to me with a new MSI P67 board, I could not be absolutely 100% sure it was at fault, not within a chance in a million of it not being something else. As it turned out it was indeed the MB and had it returned. Newegg was extremely graceful in even paying for the return shipping. Fortunately I opted for ASUS, for which I have had no regrets. Hope it get sorted Mark.Kind regards,

Thankfully this is just my old FS computer and not the new one I built. I use it for FSInn, Weather, Charts and Acars so it is needed. Just purchased a replacement MSI G31TM-P21 Socket 775 Board for $39 after mail in rebate. The problem with older boards is you are buying left over stock so this one does not have a DVI port, only VGA. Also only two Ram slots. Nonetheless, I will have my computer up and running again without great expense and for my needs this computer will be just fine.Mark.

Thanks to all for the help. I installed my new MB tonight. Started up in Safe mode and now just updating drivers. Looks like all is working. Again thanks for all of the advice and help in getting through this issue. Thankfully my new build from a few months ago helped out a lot and I was able to swap the MB very quickly and get back up and running.Mark.
