What PSU Where?

Featured Replies

I have my fsx rig as per specs below and i have my other PC which i use for 3D Graghics and other misc. video games. Basically in my 3D graphics PC i have a i7-950 with 2 x GTX460 in SLI and am using a OCZ ZX Series fully modular 80Plus Gold 850W PSU.My question is, should i swap these PSUs being as 1000W would be better for the two graphics cards and the higher quality OCZ PSU is all i need for my one GTX560Ti?Would like your opinions. Thanks,

Rick Hobbs

I don't think the OCZ is better quality than the CM SilentPro. Both PSU's will handle any of those two rigs no problem

Hey Dario. The reason i asked was because i read somewhere that the gold series PSUs produced a more stable supply ie less spikes, which would be more benificial to FSX, considering how touchy that App seems to be.Regards,

Quality of the signal has more to do with ripple and voltage regulation. The 80 plus Gold, Silver and stuff is an efficiency rating, aka how much power it needs to draw from the outlet to deliver a certain wattage. 80 plus means 80% or more of what is drawn is actually usable

Your current PSU is plenty.
