December 2, 201114 yr As I found out earlier on the default settings for the TM warthog were not usable so I slid the value to around 30 on the linear/non linear slider. This made the control a lot easier. The other night I moved to to ~ 55 and while things were not immediately different I noticed a big improvement when I tried to land. During the flare I was able to pull the nose up while still sinking and not worried that I was going to gain altitude which I had to be a lot more cautions about with the other setting. The landing felt a lot better. Just wondering what other hog users have settled one there? The other question is for windowed mode. To get better fps I am running in windowed mode with the window spanning across the center and half of the side monitors. Essentially so I dont have as many pixels to draw. Is there anyway to tell xplane to run in window mode without borders and to have it remember the position of the window., Right now I have to drag it around every time. Thanks!Jason
December 2, 201114 yr What's working for me with the Warthog is to leave the linear/non-linear sliders at zero - that is, purely linear - and instead play with the stability settings. When I moved away from linear, I felt I was losing the precision of the Warthog, which to me is one of its main advantages. The stability adjustment seemed to damp out the overcontrol. Before the most recent beta revision I'd pushed the stability sliders to 100 (full right). Now I find I can manage with about 30 percent for light aircraft, and 50 percent for helicopters. Am still experimenting but that's where I am at the moment. It seems to me that stability has been enhanced in the most recent revision. Or it may be I'm just getting more used to X-Plane controls.
