Simconnect for FSX and WideFS6 for FS9

Featured Replies

Hi, I've installed all the WideFS6 components correctly on my serverclient machines. My problem is, I am at a loss for how to setup ASE on the client when using FS9 on the "server" computer . A little background. I should not say "at a loss" because currently I have setup Simconnect successfully on the client for FSX and I am running ASE for FSX. My problem again is how to setup WideFS6 to run ASE for FS9 on the client computer if I currently have it running for FSX as well. I was thinking maybe I have to uninstall ASE on the client and reinstall using the "NETWORKED CONFIGURATION FOR FS9" instructions from the ASE.pdf document. Or is it not possible to install ASE on the client using both Simconnect and WideFS6? Maybe there is a solution, hopefully. Can I reinstall and setup the client parameters for FS9 then?Regards,Tom

Thanks for your reply. All I am trying to do here is find out what I have to do to use ASE for both FS9 and FSX. I already have it working for FSX on the client. Is there a step by step out there that I could follow? The Ase.pdf does not seem to help me.

Tom,You have to have WideFS setup correctly since the FS9 interface for ASE uses FSUIPC. This means wideclient setup on the client, WideFS server on the server, working properly so that add-ons can connect to FSUIPC from the remote client. Once that's working you're done, ASE will connect in FS9 mode (via fsuipc/wideclient/server). Path setup is exactly the same as per FSX mode, you select the folders for FS9, FS9AppData.

Thanks Damian, I think I have it setup and ready to go now. My problem is I have submitted a support ticket yesterday and I am waiting for a reply from support.I am now having a licensing problem. I have tried to run ASE too many times on the client while setting this thing up and it is closing me out. I need to have my license reactivated. But the funny thing is I have no problems running ASE on the server computer, which I obviously do not want to do. When I get it running on the client I will uninstall ASE on the server computer.Regards, Tom
