HelloCan somebody tell me which of the many topic notification alert methods I need to select(in profile options)to get a notification via e-mail that somebody has replied to a topic I have posted ? Used to be simple, that option was available directly underneath the topic I was composing.I have selected what I THOUGHT was the right option, but my in box is filled with followed topics, don't want that just an alert when a reply to my posted topic is made .Cheers AndyUPDATE!Is it the 'notify me of new comments' option by any chance.

Look above the first post of the topic, above the button where it says "Reply to this topic"Click "Follow this topic" And then a box appears asking how you'd like to be notified about replies.Not sure what you're asking for but if you want an instant notification sent to your email when a reply is made, just leave the default option selected in that pop-up and press Follow.Hope this helps.

Hello SamAll i want is to be notified of any replies to a query I might post in the forums.At the moment I am getting masses of e-mails for 'followed ' topics.I don't want that .If and when you reply to this topic again ,I would like to receive an e-mail notifying me.Anyways I have done as you suggested.cheers AndyPS Apologies if I am being very dim. I seem to be getting muddled (comes with age) with the 'Following' options I.E. following individual posts ,or whole forums etc etc etc.In the old days in a time long ago ,if you wanted an e-mail notification of a reply to a post ,you ticked a box in the options menu at the base of the page,and you got it.Its all gone rather fancy pants these days for a bear of little brain that is yours truly.Andy

If you've done as I suggested then you'll get an email notifying it. Had a dig around and if you use the reply box at the bottom of the topic, you'll see a box saying "More reply options" *or something along those lines, I clicked it without reading what it actually said and remembering it :wink:If you click that then on the right of the text box there's 3 options, I have the bottom one un-ticked and i'm only being sent emails for topics i've actually asked to know every reply.Other than that I can't see anything that would influence it, perhaps something on your user dashboard?PS Don't worry, I know what you mean...
