Driver problem

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a problem with the nVidia driver 285.62, the latest WHQL driver from nVidia?Mine seem to be corrupting quite often, or it seems XP ver 10 doesen't like this particular driver.Donald E. Donovan

I didn't go into detail because everyone's setup is different, but just wondered if ver 10 didn't like these drivers. After running XP for about an hour the sky has turned very dark grey, almost black. Sometimes the settings screen will show through the sky. Last night I had this and even more problems, installed different drivers and the problem went away, so went back to the 285.62 and they seemed to work fine until now. I'll go back to different drivers but just was wondering?Donald E. Donovan

I have had this problem when enabling shadows any higher than overlay. I know exactly what you are seeing.Keep your shadows on overlay and it should be fine.It is being addressed by Laminar.

Thanks Goran for the feedback. I am on overlay now, but will go back to static and see if that will helpDonald E. Donovan

Might have been static. Just to confirm, are you seeing a HUGE increase in FPS? Over 100fps. If so, it is the same problem I had.Anyway, let us know how you go.

No , I don' have an increase in fps, they stay at the 32 to 35 fps level. No joy for going back to static. So I,m going to change drivers again. going for broke and a bit of a gamble I'll install the highest and newest beta drivers from nVidia, LOL However I have a stable 270 series driver in the folder if all else fails.Donald E. I have changed drivers. I finished with a set of 275.33 drivers, and all is well. Apparently XP10 doesn't like the 285.62 drivers on my particular machine.Doesn't mean they aren't good, just my setup doesn't like them for whatever reason. As an aside the 275.33 drivers gave me a bit of a fps increase. from 32 fps to 37fps.Thanks and be well,Donald E.
