February 8, 200422 yr I really like this a/c -- but have a great deal of difficulty lining it up to land close to the centreline. I have not experienced this with any other Fsim a/c. The problem that I have is that the a/c seems to "wallow" (when on final approach at around 105 mph) if I realise that I am a little off centre and attempt to correct the final path. A small correction one way seems to result in a cumbersome overswing which then requires a larger correction in the opposite direction, I know that I am not making myself very clear here. I have tried landing with the wingtip tanks empty and that does seem to improve things a little -- I would be surprised if the real a/c exhibited this characteristic -- it would make landing a very hit and miss matter indeed! :)Any ideas?Barry
February 8, 200422 yr It IS highly sensitive.I suspect that in real life pilots drain the tiptanks first for that very reason.
February 8, 200422 yr I'm pretty sure that's been addressed in their forum; have you checked there? http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/I recall there was quite an issue regarding the yaw of the a/c and what steps could be taken to correct it. Rick Rick
February 8, 200422 yr I have thought that this may have been related to a "yaw" problem that people reported a while ago. But they were reporting unusual takeoff and taxi probs which I don't have . The a/c tracks nicely for me -- does everything really nicely -- except for this situation on landing when flying slowlyBarry
February 8, 200422 yr Having the tip tanks empty indeed makes a big difference for me.One other thing that I have changed is increasing the yaw_stability parameter in the aircraft.cfg to 2.0. Others have set it even higher, but for me this value preservers the characteristics of this plane while making the handling a bit easier.Just my 2c (EUR),VOlker :]
