Bugs Everywhere bugs so back to the sim :-)

Featured Replies

I Havent posted for a while in the forum so heres a hello to my friends :-)Strange how we often talk of bugs in the sim yet I have had nothing but bugs real world.A fun problem in a Cessna Crusader which happily decides to surge on the left engine as soon as you pass 6000 feet approx. On a night flight back from Scotland UK I was pushed up to 12000 feet and the fuel flow was going full deflection with an accompanying yaw not nice over nowhere in the black:-)Still trying to cure that one so any ideas greatly appreciated.A one year old Seneca five which decided to give complete engine cuts(left engine again:-( at most inopportune moments in IMC and at Night once when I had pretty heavy icing so again not nice. Now cured by replacing nearly all the fuel system under warranty on an annual.I picked this plane up a few days ago after it was out of action for 2 months only to find 10 new faults on its first flight into IMC one was the trim which was hairy and the other autopilot which couldnt cope with the trim( oh well character building)Two weeks ago again on a night flight to st mawgan on another Seneca Five the gear wouldnt retract which made a hasty return into the departure airfield to get the hydraulics topped up(leaking seal)I then took off into the ice laden clouds only to get smoke filling the cockpit which I identified was coming from the heater.Pulling the circuit breaker and switching off the heater cured that but dropped the cabin temperature to minus 5 deg c which freezes your feet.I think I will return to flight simming as there are less BUGS and its not so SCARY ;-)A couple of new pics for youPeter :-)

Peter,at least you had decent frame rates and no stutters on those flights :-) . But after reading your post I now know what Microsoft means by "As real as it gets".Michael

MichaelWhat do you mean NO STUTTERS without the heater and minus five in the cabin I had plenty of STUTTERS and chattering teeth :-)Peter

Looks like simulated aircraft don't have enough "ripple" in their wing skins either! :)Hello from L.Adamson

Thanks for the shots. Pete.Peter Sydney Australia

Nice to have you back, Peter. You mean there are actually problems in the REAL world, too? Shocking! ;o)The engine out in IMC with icing sounds expecially ominous. I'd like to hear the rest of that story sometime. Glad it had a positive ending.Dewey
