December 15, 201114 yr A small project I have been working on for a few days. They are ALL 1920x1080, not 1680x1050, which is what the MD11 widescreen panel is.Thoughts?Level-D 767 too ;)Thanks for any feedback!
December 15, 201114 yr Moderator Very nicely done sir! Back when the original wide-screen panels were created, 16:10 monitors were widely used for computers, so 1680x1050 was the correct size to use......but, with the advent of HDTV 1080p and 1080i becoming so widespread, computer monitor manufacturers switched over to 16:9 ratio as well, which means that 2d panels now need to be 1920x1080 as well.It doesn't sound like such a big difference and on a 22" monitor it's hardly noticable......but on a huge monitor it makes a LOT of difference! The first time I really noticed the difference was when I started using a 42" HDTV for my main flightsim monitor via HDMI cable. Wow! What a surprise that was for me! Fr.
