February 10, 200422 yr I have a problem with the realair C172. The LED digits for the COM1 and NAV1 radios are very weak and indistinct. Why? I have to use the pop up window to see the values. Also the same problem with the LED in the cockpit to the right of NAV1 and NAV2.Even some digits in the Clock is indistinct though not weak.
February 10, 200422 yr Yes I have the same problem with the default C172.Regarding brightness and contrast they are set at themost optimal level. It's just theese LED in FS that arevery weak. Increasing brightness would make the rest of the displayto bright.
February 10, 200422 yr Have you tried a different screen resolution? Some of these things are designed for just a couple specific resolutions. I'd really like to know if there is a way to change the color of the numbers. Usually they are red which makes them difficult to read. Anyone know how to do this?David
February 11, 200422 yr Author Hi.We will need more info on your system, video, driver, OS etc. If you are too bright for other apps it may be your video driver. The ATI with 3.10 and no SP1 acts very strange, if that is what you have try 3.9. You can also try to run it in Window mode, Alt Enter, and see if it changes, if yes it may be your monitor. I have an EV700 that behaved similarly, and I had to replace the power transistor that controls the brightness / contrast. Try, Window mode, another driver, adjust your color balance, more red, you can also replace the radio stack with something other than MS. Post here for more info or feedback. TV
February 11, 200422 yr I'm using 1024*768 32 color and I think that's the only sensible resolution to use.
February 11, 200422 yr HelloI have a Athlon 1800+ XP with 512 M 333 RAM and a Asus V8170 graphics card with the latest NVIDIA drivers (52.16) and myonly display problems is with the FS9 LEDs. There is nothing wrong with my graphics card or monitor. And I already have a somewhat different PANEL which I downloaded fromAVSIM. This gave VOR indication in the main heading indicator.
February 11, 200422 yr ehem... is the pixel_size in the vcockpit section of your panel.cfg set to 1024?vilk
February 11, 200422 yr >Hi.>problem. I can tell you that some of the LCDs that I own have>the same (latitude?) problem. I hope this helps, and I want toI'm not sure if I understand what you mean with this. Do youmean a LCD monitor?Note that it's only the top LED in the radiostack that is significant dimmer in brightness than the other. The clock LED has not dimmer LED but it is still very indistinct.
February 11, 200422 yr >ehem... is the pixel_size in the vcockpit section of your>panel.cfg set to 1024?>No it's listed as 512,512 (two instances)
February 11, 200422 yr >Hi.>Did you try to use it in Window mode?>Was it the same?Yes now I have tried that and to my surprise the problem wasno more present. But I don't like to run FS in window mode.
February 12, 200422 yr >well, try changing it to 1024, 1024 and let's see...Result, nothing what I could see
February 12, 200422 yr Alittle OT but dont you wish that how when you bring up the Radio stack window at night with the cockpit lights off you still get the led's to be orange and bright compared to the VC that become dim like all the other gauges) that the VC would do the same? That way you could dim the cockpit lights but still be able to see the leds on the radio stack.
