December 17, 201114 yr Commercial Member I have a few questions that come to mind, sorry in advance.1) I haven't done a theme yet, just letting ASE do it all, I will do a theme creation I guess, still don't understand some aspects of the program, like the route planner, it imports textures. so when it doesn't it just used what you got?2) So this in mind, whats the difference between using the route planner, and using ASE textures, and just loading in? Just loading in used the textures you already have?Does the route override the textures?3) when flying yesterday EGCC-ESSA I did the route plan, but used my own flight plan [rfinder] The real route was way off than ASE's route finder, I was concerned I wasn't getting any weather, as the winds were 0 and not much clouds on cruise.4) there seems to be a "refresh" bug. Basically it feels like there is a cycle of around a second. Very difficult to explain on text, I will try. When going through turbulence yesterday I experienced the movement that felt like it was on repeat, every second, like a skipping CD. Same again this morning, looking at the snow in ESSA the pattern of snowfall repeated itself every second, [a heavy downpour to lighter] x and repeat.Hope I have made myself as clear as possible, look forward to your help, sorry in advance :( Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! December 17, 201114 yr Commercial Member Hi,You keep mentioning ASE, but I am assuming you mean AS2012 instead?Flight planning/route import does not import textures. It can launch a wx-influenced selection and install for you though. It does this after route entry because now it knows where you are going, and can compute route average wx conditions in which to base selections one.If you do an install during the post-plan process, then yes, it will reselect and reinstall textures for you. If you don't install, then no, it wont overwrite your last install. What is a "real route"? I've explained a bit to your similar question in another thread. Of course there can be differences. VOR-VOR routing is not the same as airway routing. We don't do intersections. Have no idea about not getting weather or winds... if using FSUIPC have you installed the recommend 4.751 update to prevent known issues with winds? No idea about a refresh bug, but snow or rain turning on and off depending on your view in FSX is a known "feature"... December 18, 201114 yr Commercial Member Hi Alex,Round and round? The DWC wind smoothing would be providing a standard 1kt/deg per sec change if moving between different values... is this what you are seeing, or something else? Please provide some specific details about this, but moving from 347 to 348 to 349 sounds like wind smoothing in action. Also, if you have Variable wind directions reported in the METAR, it can result in changing directions all the time, this would all be normal. A METAR string, and recount of what the wind does over a 1 minute period would help. Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
