February 12, 200422 yr I just downloaded this scenery too. but I haven't installed it in FS2004 yet. Hope to see screenshots of it soon ;)
February 12, 200422 yr Sadly, I can confirm that it is very heavy indeed. I still have it installed but I never managed to get anything vaguely resembling a decent performance on my system (XP2400+, GF4200) no matter how much I lowered my settings.Kind regards,
February 12, 200422 yr Same problem here. It's a beautifull scenery but unflyable so I've removed it from my HD...a shame !regards,Thomas

February 12, 200422 yr Have you tried combining this scenery with the Gmax version of Dubai which is by Emirates VA? I haven't tried it, but Im going to try it tonight. Here are the steps on how to combine the scenery-To combine the scenery, you have to remove the airport filefrom Dubai2004. To do this, simply go into the sceneryfolder of this airport and delete the dubaiapt.bgl file fromthe Dubai 2004 scenery. This will remove the airportbuildings and static aircraft, while leaving all of thedowntown buildings, the palm, and hotels. Leave the excludefiles since it will make sure the default stock scenery doesnot show up on top of the addon. Here is what the entrieslook like in FS9.cfgscenery cfg after Dubai2004 is added:{Area.???}Title=Cities - Dubai (The Palm)Local=Addon SceneryCitiesDubaiPalmRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=???{Area.???}Title=Cities - Dubai (Downtown)Local=Addon SceneryCitiesDubaiCityRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=???Scenery cfg file after Emirates VA scenery is added:{Area.???}Title=Dubai International Airport - OMDBLocal=Addon SceneryAirportsDubai International AirportRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=???(I saw this tip on the project AI forums)(web site for Emirates VA scenery)http://www.fsimzone.com/ek/dubai.html
