Bush flying favourite airfields

Featured Replies

Hi,Been a while since we saw a thread like this.Could people tell what are their favourite airfields for bush flying using the default COF scenery. You know what I mean - mountains, lakes, forests dicey approaches...

BUMPOK let's open this up to any decent scenery.

Hello, Richard. That is a favorite topic for me :)Without any addons (freeware or payware), I fly a lot out of Kake in SE Alaska. The airfield is beautiful in its default COF state. Lots of nice scenery around. If you want to add freeware bush flying addons, then you have a good collection from such authors/groups: Michael Carr, Frank Betts, BFU (Bush Flying Unlimited) and others, sceneries that you can find at avsim. For payware, none is better than the Georender series.

Hey Richard....Don't listen to Naji or Frank Betts.:D. Both think that Alaska is the only scenic area. :D Washington State is great too... So is the Florida Keys.Joe Watson

Hi Folks,Another excellent source for very interesting bush flying sites can be found by searching Avsim (especially FS2002 which works in FS2004)for NAJI.I've had the pleasure of spending many fun hours in the bush (Alaska etc.) with Naji's scenery creations.Howard

Howdy,Bush flying? Well, don't forget Amazonia (excellent payware scenery available called Amazon Defenders); Papua-New Guinea (excellent free-ware scenery available from Ian Thatcher's Tassim site); or the Australian outback ... the real "Bush" :-lol. And finally, (French) Polynesia, whilst not traditionally considered "bush" also offers unique possibilities with scattered communities whose only access to the outside world is via commuter aircraft (no BIF's need apply, thank you).

Canaima, along with the Venezuela mesh that's circulated on the various MSFS sites....... I visited Angel Falls back in '90, and the area is great for bush flying.... In FS2004 it's simply breathtaking when one adds the way the sky and clouds are rendered...-John
