How to add illuminations to a gauge?

Featured Replies

Hi!I really need to add illuminations to a gauge that is placed on the radiostack of the PMDG 737 (FS2004). I've read couple of websites, visited FS Panel Studio website but not have found answer whether it's possible and eventually how to do it...So maybe some of you might share some mystery and provide me with some information?I would be blissfully grateful for help ! :D

Unless the gauge in question is scripted in XML (it would be in a .cab file), then you cannot "add lighting" to a gauge. Period.

Unfortunately it's in a .gau file... Too bad... Anyway, thanks for help ! :)

With gau. files there are various means of accessing the bmp's but no you can't change the illumination. If it is a straightforward gauge why not try and find an xml. example in other a/c or in the avsim library. You could also try to write and xml replacement!!!vololiberista

I think I won't find any replacement beacuse the gauge I'm talking about is the gauge that I had to install in order to merge the Weather Radar with the PMDG 737. After having merged it, a gauge on the radio stack that controls the weather radar of the aircraft was added. It works fine but has no illuminations programmed so when I'm flying in the dark, whole cockpit is illuminated except for the part of the radio stack where radar controls are situauted. But I think I could try writing an .xml replacement of this gauge, providing that there is some good and transparent manual how to do it on the net. Could you recommend me one?
