It's not really 6 GBy VRAM, it's 2 banks of 3 GBy (one bank per GPU.) The ATI/AMD 2 GPU cards are architected as 2 separate video adapters crossfired on a single card.Cheers,- jahman.

Exactly, like the GTX 590 advertised at 3GB but it's two banks of 1.5GB, still the 7990 is the first 3GB x 2.The kepler will be out next year (2nd quater maybe) and I can't wait to see what Nvidia will do to compete with the 7990....

Yes, i should have included that part in my question, I am aware of that. But still, you have 2 GPU's each using 3 gigs, still a heap.

VRAM is mirrored between both cards in SLI, so it's 3GBOne of the reasons the GTX590 was a complete failure is that it only has 1.5GB x 2. At high resolutions in some games you can easily hit the 1.5GB limit, at least that's what they say in the interwebs.

And the speed on the GTX 590 is only rated at 630MHz......FAIL
