Hi.Im looking to buy a new yoke and throttle set from saitek. I already have one second hand throttle and want four levers for my 747 cockpit. I have seen a four throttle lever head top to help realisim, in peoples videos. But i have never seen them on sale. Anyone know if a new throttle gives you these heads as standard. I have contacted saitek but the broken english reply i got gave me the impression they didnt really understand what i was asking for.

You can (or at least could) buy additional heads somewhere online, although for the life of me I can't remember where! I seem to remember them being marketed as "spares", rather than additional units.

If buying a new Saitek throttle you will get 2 black throttle heads, 1 blue and 1 red head. You will also get a large black one that covers 4 levers but you will lose separate throttle controls. If you already own the throttle and have the 2 black heads then the new one will give you two more to control 4 engines.

No Steve. The "extra throttle head" is not present in the combo. You only get the extras when you purchase the stand-alone USB throttle. The throttle that comes with the yoke uses a PS2 plug and connects to the right rear of the yoke base.I hate to admit it, but I've since shelved my USB stand-alone throttle and use only the quadrant that came with my yoke (with the replacement heads that came with the stand-alone). After 3 years of use, the spiking of the original throttles got pretty bad, so I decided to open the unit up and clean the potentiometers the other day. This was a very simple process and it works like new now.Best photo I have
