v5 still in development?
JD had a blog to post RC 5 updates when RC 5 was announced some 5 years ago. It's been taken down. 5 years later no updates from JD. What is really upsetting is people like Jim Skorna come here with condescending comments and request we respect JD. So what about us the customer for the product? The people that spend their hard earned money for Radar Contact? Don't we deserve respect? Don't we deserve an answer from JD? It's been 5 years of this. My money is that RC 5 is dead and my money is better spent elsewhere.

v5 still in development?
Ummm no I was trying to remind you Jim that the topic was not about "windows 8"or "kids asking parents if they were there yet"..... It was about v5 development. You know the subject that gets you upset. :)

v5 still in development?
LMAO depends on the parent. We have x amount of miles and will be there in x amount of minutes. So what was the topic of this thread again?

v5 still in development?
But a parent would give the child an answer where as you just give condescending replies. Thanks....

v5 still in development?
Pan Pan Pan, The first response Buck Rogers got when he asked if it's been released was from Jim Skorna. Jim got upset with Buck for asking such a question. "How dare you ask such a question Buck". "You have no right to ask this question" "It will be ready when the developers feel like it" :)Pan Pan Pan, The first response Buck Rogers got when he asked if it's been released was from Jim Skorna. AirbusCaptain, Don't know what was going on with the forums but I couldn't quote text.If youd look I was responding to Jim Skorna's post about Windows. I didn't bring it up, Jim did and agree that it has nothing to do with the price of tea in China :)John Thomas, Jim can be condecending at times but he can be very helpful as well and is an asset with his knowledge. I don't know why he has such a beef with this subject and people asking.Bobby, First off thanks for your service in the Airforce. A number of us are just asking a question. John posted the blog about V5 and announced it what 5 years ago. You have to admit that when you announce the product then poof nothing after 5 years it makes people wonder. An update once in a while is all we ask. FSX on 27inch WLED
Jeff replied to dobes's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcAnd this type of attitude here is why I stopped freeware development and post very little. I have been on AVSIM since the beginning even though my username only shows x amount of posts and a differnet date. So post count and date of joining has nothing to do with the price of tea in China. FWIW I have had probably 5 usernames thru the years due to forum changes or whatever.

v5 still in development?
Because numerous times in this hobby, developers have stopped development and then flown off never to be heard from again. Not saying JD would do that but it has happened and is a valid question.
-
v5 still in development?
Possibly Graham. I would venture to say that Flightsim just got old to him and moved on to something else.
-
v5 still in development?
Thanks Ray. There have been so many people in this hobby that just disappeared without a trace.

So what happened to Doug Thompson?

Looking to buy full motion flight simulator
Jeff replied to a post in a topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcTherecwas a guy years ago that built a full motion 747 sim in Australia. I haven't looked for a website but he actually bought part of a 747 cockpit and built the platform himself. He built it in a huge warehouse.

saitek throttle heads....
If buying a new Saitek throttle you will get 2 black throttle heads, 1 blue and 1 red head. You will also get a large black one that covers 4 levers but you will lose separate throttle controls. If you already own the throttle and have the 2 black heads then the new one will give you two more to control 4 engines.

RC5
Again pretty condescending. You don't know my day job. I was hypothetically speaking. If a business that put out a product had your type of attitude, that business would not be in business very long. Lucky in the FS community competition is very slim. BTW Your students love you because you post 8000 times a day rather than teach. They consider your class recess.

RC5
Jim, Pretty condescending statement. Your students must love you. So the people doing this in their spare time with families, homes, relationships and other real world things are not asking for money for the products? I wonder what would happen if one of my customers asked me about one of my products and I either never responded back or said I have a family and other things to worry about than my customers......

Sudden dive bomb when landing
Jeff replied to slait's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi Damian, they were night cargo flights with nothing in a 30 mile radius in TCAS and visual. I have wake turbulence set at 10%. What I'm getting when it has gone out of control was similar to US Air flight 427 around 300 agl on short final. It acted more like uncommanded rudder movements or as if the aircraft hit something.

Sudden dive bomb when landing
Jeff replied to slait's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI've encountered it a few times since ASE release too. I'm using FS9 though. It happened to me Sunday at 300 ft on final. I was able to recover this one somehow. All the other times it crashed and burned. No aircraft around to cause wake turbulence. I thought it might have been wind shear. The way the aircraft behaved all the times, it was like the wing hit something. I recall it seemed the aircraft always dropped on the left side. It's happened with different aircraft at different airports. I thought maybe a scenery issue so I set up on final and flew the approach again and it was fine.

AI Shipping Do Complete Packages Exist ?
I've been compiling cruise ship schedules in the US. I've taken many cruises and want to do an AI package as time permits. My last one we were sailing in the Carribean this past July. I was sitting on a chaise lounge at night on the top deck watching the planes flying above me while listening to the water and the wind. Very relaxing!!!! It would be nice seing the boats dock in the ports and depart. It is going to be a long process....

On a positive note...
Jeff replied to HiFly's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI agree. Damian has been AWESOME!!!! I wasn't going to get the next version with the problems I had with ASE. Now the problems seem to be fixed and I can't wait until the next version. BTW HiFly, I'm right across the bay from you outside of Tampa.
