December 21, 201114 yr I don,t use this program although I have owned it for se real years. From time to time I still see questions about RC 5. Is this thing really being worked on. I don,t know if this is produced by a actual company or just a group of guys on their on. Would love to se some status info from a developer or someone with a clue. I do a lot of vfr fighting and had hped they would be the answer to better atc for us also. I would surly understand with flight in the wings they may be dragging their feet but as good as RC 4 is, I find it really strange that we can,t seem to find out much about them? Anyone with a clue??..thanks Sam Prepar3D V5.3/[email protected]/EVGA 3080 TI/1000W PSU/Windows 10/40" 4K Samsung@3840x2160/ASP3D/ASCA/ORBX/ ChasePlane/General Aviation/Honeycomb Alpha+Bravo/MFG Rudder Pedals/

December 21, 201114 yr Spoken like a true 18 year old.Sam,Most FS companies are people doing this in their spare time, working around one or more jobs, families, homes, relationships and other real world things. RC5 is still in the works from the latest released information. Hang in there!
December 21, 201114 yr Hi,I don't know about that. I'm 50 years old and enjoy RC4 on every flight. I'm looking forward to RC5, I just hope it will work with P3D. So the people doing this in their spare time with families, homes, relationships and other real world things are not asking for money for the products? I wonder what would happen if one of my customers asked me about one of my products and I either never responded back or said I have a family and other things to worry about than my customers......
December 21, 201114 yr FSUIPC4 now supports Prepar3D. From the latest release notes:"15. Version 1.2 of Prepar3D is supported with effect from FSUIPC 4.742. The updated installer is updated to correctly recognise this version and install correctly. It also installs a new DLL ("SimConnectP3D.dll") which allows FSUIPC4 to use the up-to-date Prepar3D SimConnect interface, and making it no longer dependent upon the installation of the older ESP SimConnect side-by-side library.NOTE that there is a small problem in the released version of Prepar3D 1.2 which causes it to crash when terminated if any SimConnect client program created a Menu entry, as of course FSUIPC4 does. This is known to Lockheed-Martin and will be fixed in an update shortly."Now if FSUIPC4 supports it and if the scenery.cfg is the same as FSX so makerwys works to rebuild the scenery database, then RC4 should be able to communicate with it and get your scenery data. I believe in an article about it I believe it stated FSX scenery can be used. The article I read about P3D's structure and FSX compatibility is in the NOV-DEC issue of Computer Pilot. Hi,I don't know about that. I'm 50 years old and enjoy RC4 on every flight. I'm looking forward to RC5, I just hope it will work with P3D.

December 21, 201114 yr Most of them have a fan base primarily of 15 to 19 year olds.Yep... that's me. Forty-five going on fifteen. Even my daughter calls me immature. An Avsim demographic questionnaire is released occasionally. I suppose the stats are freely available though I haven't looked for them. I suspect the fan base is closer to 30 - 50 years old while the 15 - 19 class is more likely to enjoy only a superficial dalliance with flight simming, treating it more as an arcade game through being conditioned to expect instant gratification. There's plenty of information available in threads here on the state of v. 5's development and JD does reply, though he appears to devote his posting time to answering serious requests. Try to bear in mind that he's only one man, not a company, and that RC is unlikely to be his day job. Enjoy v. 4.3 while you wait.Regards,D

I did not know this was just one guy on his own trying to hack together this product. No wonder nothing new comes out. I bought this product years ago in order to be ready for RC 5! Duh....now more to the point Who are you and how are you qualified to answer for the guy or company or what ever it is called. Next ...my request for information is as valid as any so once again why are you speaking for this guy. And finally, no I will not enjoy 4.3 because it does not support VFR well which is why I made the serious request for informationin the first place. December 21, 201114 yr RC4 does not support VFR but it does support IFR from/to non-controlled airports. You also have the option of terminating radar service.By using the departure/arrival NOTAMS option it gives some flexibility which to some degree emulates flight following.

There is really no need to cefend RC4. It is a great product, probably the best which is why I was hoping it would be developed to it,s full potential but I would think that nearly impossible for even a small group...and for one person almost impossible. Anyway, you have beaten this horse to death before and the horse hasn't changed yet, so bye!Again pretty condescending. You don't know my day job. I was hypothetically speaking. If a business that put out a product had your type of attitude, that business would not be in business very long. Lucky in the FS community competition is very slim. BTW Your students love you because you post 8000 times a day rather than teach. They consider your class recess.
December 22, 201114 yr Only jd is capable of answering that. ronzieSo, what is the real status of V5?
December 22, 201114 yr Only jd is capable of answering that.John, maybe you can give us some information.
