RC5

The developer of a well-known 767 announced a million years ago that they would be producing another aircraft. Since then they have been bombarded with questions as to the status of the release, and their replies take the tone of "thats for us to know and you to wait for - and by the way who do you think you are bothering us with your silly questions?"This attitude has offended a lot of people and quite possibly lost them future customers, and rightly so. iFly surprised us by releasing, in Chinese, news of an almost-finished airplane, which within a week or so was on sale. No empty promises, no holier-than-thou attitude, just a solid useable product. Immediately the developer opened an unusually frank dialogue with their customers which resulted in the rapid release of patches and SPs and problems being resolved - proving that It Can Be Done.Does anybody here remember the tongue-lashing that the 767 customers received when asking about the release of a Winglets update? Ouch!!With hindsight I am sure that the RC team/person (I do not know which is the case) regrets announcing a new version so early in its gestation.Has there been an official response as to the expected release date? If so, would somebody please point me to it.I hope there has been a response: telling us to wait another year wold be much better that silence, but I´m afraid saying "I dont know": after all these years, is not the right answer.

I dislike that 767 forum's attitude and it does put me off buying more planes from them. Youre right that ifly seem to get customer interaction right. If youre trying to build enthusiasm in hobbyists i think thats importanr.

With Flight appearing to be another arcade revenue source I have been awaiting V5 so I can stop looking at the Flight news trickle for hopeful signs and more fully commit to FSX and more addons. Money is in the bank but RC and others may not get it.

I'm in my 60s and have been flight simming from the very beginnging. 60s wow can't believe that myself. :) Anyway I've purchased a _ _ _ _ load of addons. If my memory serves me correctly I've never landed on one that did not take some time getting here. I love rc4 so if the 5 version is anything like what has been suggested it should be really great. From what I have read rc5 will take it to another level so I'm content to let them take time to do it right the first time. Unlike many addons that need a lot of corrective patches later. So I for one am glad they are taking it slow. The great news is we still get to enjoy our hobby with rc4 while we wait.Have a great weekend all.CaptMac

Oz, I agree with you wholeheartedly. However in my opionion its one nut job moderator that casts that attitutude. The actual hands-on developers like Wade and others are quite pleasant to confer with. At least thats been my finding.

PebbleBeach? Wish I was there today. We have a foot of snow and still coming.CaptMac
