Hello. If I'm reaching the TOD and I'm in controlled airspace. Should i just decend with the fmc. Call the controller to inform them I want to decend, or will the controller call me a little before TOD and give me authority to decend at my discretion. Thanks Steve

Well I finally solved it by turning off the AF setting win nvidia inspector and ensuring it was on in FSX. I'm now back to amazing crisp textures. Thanks all.

I had this very same problem. For me I turned off AF within Nvidia inspector and ensured it was handled in FSX. Set to anisotropic. Went from blurry to crisp as far as the eye could see.

Ok. Will see what happens with all of the tweaks in Pauls thread. I do have one question about this......How does FSX know it should use the profile in Nvidia Inspector. The thread states I should save the inspector settings, I created one called MS FSX DX10 and applied the changes. But how does FSX know it should look at this profile, or does it not work like that. I must admit to altering the default MS FSX settings to that of the MS FSX DX10 anyway in error, but im still unsure of how FSX picks this profile up. Is it saved somewhere within FSX. Thanks Steve

Cheers Jim. Sure did and I can't fault the DX10 clarity, both AA and AF set in FSX, I can live with the blue flicking scenery from time to time as well. But revert to Dx9 and it's all rather ugly. Not sure why. Thanks.

Hello. I have been enjoying a few weeks of faultless flying. Along the way I installed various new scenery and demo scenery. Until last week I booted up a flight and the textures seemed very blurry, very near to the aircraft and did not seem to snap in place until late. Sometimes I look st something and wonder if it really is different to normal but this is quite drastic. Also the VC in the 737NGX, seemed blurred. I'm sure I could see the numbers of the flap gauge before, now they are a blurry mess. Part of my fiddling recently included changing to DX10 mode just to see what it was like. Due to the blue flashing scenery I decided to change it back within minutes. That was a couple of weeks back and I don't think I noticed any blurred textures straight after this change. However, in Part of my trying to fix blurred textures I deleted configs and re built them, I tried kostas tweaks, I uninstalled various scenery but the blurred textures simply stayed. I don't know why but I went back to DX10, and rolled back a graphics card driver to one I thought worked well before. It was here I noticed my scenery textures were clearer than I had ever seen them. The VC was still blurred. I took off and noticed a dramatic improvement over smoothness and frame increase. I was very pleased. I noted white textures on various AI and on some of my pay ware planes, but the increase in overall flying and texture loading really seems to good. I wonder if changing to DX10 previously caused something in DX9 to change and alter settings causing blurred textures that I never noticed until the other day. Can I change anything to get the quality of texture loading I'm getting in DX10, in DX9. All the sliders remain the same and the global texture setting is the highest. With thanks Steve.

I have the packages mentioned above and find them great, but the cost of all products combined can see you spending upto and over £200. I'm not sure on the orbx release if the whole of the uk is included in one download, or it will be split into regions, but overall I'll bet it's much cheaper than using the products mentioned combined. And to get a god representation of the UK I'll be pleased to see its release. I think the screenshots look great, I'll never get London looking like that without spending another wad of cash on VFR London, and that may see my FPS drop still. Do I need ORBX England? Probably not.... Will I buy ORBX England? Almost certainly. Steve.

Hello. I have some UK2000 xtreme airports. Got them for around £23 each. I notice on amazon they are selling two at a time on these discs.... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xtreme-Airports-Vol-Heathrow-Gatwick/dp/B006NU6JHE But I can't understand how they would be £20 for the pair, are these the same thing as on the uk2000 website.. Hi. I put all the files into FSX this morning and FSX just would not load, it shows unresponsive in the Task Manager. Delete files and it works again. Anyone had this issue. Ta Steve

Hi. Just a quick one....can someone please tell me how to silence the morse code beeping thingy, that sounds I believe at the middle marker or ILS when active. I did a flight from KSFO to KPDX today and the bloody thing sounded for the whole flight.....aarrgghhhhhh........ Cheers Steve

Leg number 3 sees me go from the number 1 busiest airport in the US to number 10 KIAH - George Bush airport. The 620nm passed by in 1hr 30mins and I landed in calm weather on Rwy 33R. With 19.3Million passengers in 2011 this is the most Southern of my top ten US airports. Thanks Steve.

My second leg of the 10 busiest airports in the US, as given by Wikipedia, see's me leave KJFK and head 680NM to the all time busiest in the US and the World. KATL - Hartsfield Jackson- Atlanta. Listed as having 92,389,023 passengers in 2011. Thanks for looking. Steve

So I decided to look up the top 10 busiest airports in the US, on Wikipedia and decided to fly into and out of each one on a tour of America. I landed at Boston (not in the top 10) from Gatwick on a 747 yesterday and started to plan my tour. Im not going in the order of busiest but more of a circle around the country as the airports have panned out. First leg was 181NM KBOS to KJFK listed as the 6th busiest in the US. Into Rwy 31L. Another update. For the first time in a long time, if not ever I have finally arrived at Boston. No hangs. Lots more testing to come but fingers crossed. I did do part of the trip on x2 so maybe not along as it normally is but the computer was still solid for 5 hours so the temps should have had a chance to rise. Will see. Thanks guys. Steve.

Hello. First Major test since putting the new UIAutomation in. PMDG 747 EGKK to KLAS. Set off last night followed the plan route and went to bed expecting a hang message in the morning, but instead I was 80NM out of KLAS and all working well, so its one nil to the Randall at the moment. Ill do a EGKK to KBOS soon and see what happens. Cheers

Thanks for your input. I have no scenery add ons in Canada. The last hang on a long haul I can remember started to hang as I changed view point. But the most recent just did it looking ahead in the cockpit. I have tried the newest automation.dll and will see how it goes. Thanks for your advice

Cheers Jim.... What I can't understand though, if it is overclocking issues, why it never happens anywhere in the sim, no matter how long I have been flying, until I hit Canada. I can do a 12 hour to Hong Kong and never experience an issue or massive rise in temps... Thanks Paul, Ill give it a whirl

I do have the whole of oz and the pnw demo, with a few airports. But my scenery should be up to date...i'lll run the Service Patches again to make sure. I did a bit of flying around YQT again this morning and had no issues.....I'm scratching me head. Ta

A very quick update as i have only had 30 mins testing. I did a search for fsinn on my system and i don't think i have it installed. I started a flight in the pmdg 737 nix. And put myself 33000 above cyqx. The sim froze after about 30 secs of flying. It had a very similar hang error message that ill post later. I dont believe overheating is an issue as this was immediatley after turning the computer on. I do monitor the temps with an app and they are normally in an ok range. More testing to follow.....
