I found that I get all kinds of issues if I don't have this setting set at 'system managed size'. You might want to run a Windows diagnostic test for your installed memory too. You might also want to try the fix at the following link - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947246.Best regards,Jim

December 29, 201114 yr what kind of issues do you get when you set the paging file system managed size ? Just curious thanks Ronny need helon this prolblem came out of the blue.I suspect you're asking me. It has been a while since I had another setting other than system managed size. I don't recall all the problems I was encountering but I do recall getting issues where the fps would fall into the single digits and they hadn't before. It took me a while to look at my page file settings and, when I changed them back to system managed size, fps were no longer in the single digits. I've witnessed several other people having crashes when they set their own page file settings. Tweaking your page file is for the experts and not for the novices like me. Although I respect Nick N's recommendations, they are NOT valid for everyone or every system. You don't indicated how much RAM you have installed but it is my understanding anything above 4 GB is useless. Did you try returning to system managed size? You can always go back to Nick N's recommendations if it doesn't work.I would also suggest you conduct a Google search for out of memory oom fsx windows 7 64 bit. You will find all kinds of suggestions from across the flight sim community. Not just here and not just with me. Many of the suggested fixes have to do with the pagefile.sys....Hope this helps.Best regards,Jim
December 29, 201114 yr Moderator Every system is different as shown by Jim's experience BUT as a general rule of thumb - you should NOT let windows manage the page file in a FSX installation. The 3072 is more than adequate for todays system and in newer systems with 6 - 12G of RAM, it really is not needed at all. Also, the typical OOM messages have nothing at all to do with the pagefile, disk space or installed RAM - you could have 12GB RAM and still get OOM issues. For whatever reason, your system is running out of virtual address space, not RAM.As suggested by Jim - google OOM FSX errors for a lot more info.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
