December 30, 201114 yr Hi! I just installed the PMDG 737NGX for FSX.Everything is working great! I have been reading the manual for the past 3 hours just to figure out how to take off :PHowever, I noticed in the VC, sometimes it would freeze for a few seconds, than continue. But just recently, in the air after like 2 hours of work on the FMC, FSX crashed and said "A fatal error occurred"I don't know why this is happening...I get like 10 fps in the VC and like 25 outside in spot.
December 30, 201114 yr If this happens again, copy the tech log and paste it in here. That way, its easier to tell where it went wrong. Also, system specs would be nice, like how much memory do you have and are u on 32 or 64bit OS? Yngve GiljebrekkeENZV NSB
December 30, 201114 yr Author Oh, thanks for replying.I have a Windows 7 64-bit 2.20GHz with a GTX 460.
December 30, 201114 yr How much memory do you have?Is the CPU intel or AMD and which type? The reason why im asking is because you may have unsufficient hardware to run the NGX stable enough. If you have less then 4GB of RAM, then thats a problem. The crash you experience may just be related to hardware settings as well, given that the version of the NGX you have is the newest one, and the VC freeze you describe is similar to plain stuttering due to low memory. December 30, 201114 yr Author I dunno how to find my CPU.And I have 2.0 GB of Ram:((But actually, on the PMDG 737NGX website page, it says: RAM: 2GB if only running the NGX, 4GB if running other addons (scenery, traffic etc) And I have NONE. I don't have one scenery package. I just installed FSX, and the only other addon I have is the Captain Sim 707.

Take a snapshot of the page, then post it here. Or, copy and paste your dxdiag. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

Its as simple as this, youre getting a crash due to overusage of memory, most likely. Have you tuned down your scenery settings to a minimum? The NGX is very complex, and will likely cause a crash if youre low on resources. Remember that even if the PMDG folks tested the NGX on only 2GB of RAM, and it worked for them, it may not nessecarily work for other computers with only 2GB of RAM. It all depends on how much applications you have running in the background. You really should invest in 2 more GB, cause that would greatly help your PC not overworking the CPU.Since the CPU is at 2.2 Ghz thats not high as well regarding the software youre trying to run. December 30, 201114 yr Author Got it. I usually do Gamebooster which shuts down a lot of programs on the computer, and I change the computer theme for best performance. If I do that, it usually doesn't crash with a fatal error, but the NGX studders and freezes a lot in the game. I guess that's the price I pay for a bad computer! Can I upgrade the Ghz for relatively cheap? Or is it less expensive to buy a new computer?
December 30, 201114 yr upgrading ghz?? Here comes the magic overclock! But don't ask me how to do it, i'm a n00b in this :(

You dont have to overdo it and spend like 2000 bucks on a new system just to get the NGX running. I really want to know what CPU you have, cause thenill be able to give you some tips. Also, the GTX460 will usually do the job. FSX in Win7 demands CPU, but when you only got 2GB of RAM, I think youd have a much better experiencebuying 2 extra GB, so that FSX can have some more memory.Buying a bigger graphics card will actually do things worse without more RAM. This is because the bigger the GDU is, the more RAM it will eat for breakfast, and then youre pc is left with nothing. So ifyoure not planning on buying a new PC, then start with memory!
