February 20, 200422 yr >>Hello Andy>>Try this:>>1)increase your screen resolution if you can>>I am at 1280X1024 32bitDEPENDING ON YOUR SCREEN SIZE YOU CAN INCREASE THE RESOLUTION (MINE IS 1920X1440 ON A 22'MONITOR) >>>2)disable the AA completely (application controled) in your>>GCard>>Should I select AA in FS9?? NO!! IN FACT AA IS FRAME KILLER FOR A VERY FEW RESULTS IF YOUR RESOLUTION IS HIGHER>>>3)select maximum anisotropic filtering (x8)>>I believe my AF goes to x16 should I use that ??? YES, JUST HAVE A TRY AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE. ANISOTROPIC FILTERING IS THE BEST FEATURE FOR JAGGED COASTLINES>>Thanks YOU'RE WELCOME>Andy>>>:-) DAVID - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
February 20, 200422 yr > Why you would turn off water effects>just to get rid of a defect that can't be seen with normal>flying is beyond me...... I often fly at low altitude where there's a lot of water. Maybe that's 'abnormal' flying, but I don't think so. Bush pilots don't 'normally' fly at 20,000 feet. From a moderate altitude this defect creates jagged shoreline edges and completely wipes out the proper shoreline textures. This is particularly annoying as I've invested a huge amount of time in developing AutoAsm, whose purpose, among other things, is to create accurate shorelines. This defect appeared in some pre-release screenshots, so it's probably quite common. However, it could still be specific to some video cards. If anyone can demonstrate correct shoreline rendering with full water effects/reflections, I'd be interested to know. Perhaps you could check it and report back.... Best regards, Chris - an abnormal flyer (only joking!)
February 20, 200422 yr Well I am refering to moderate altitude flying. IE I only fly GA but usually above 1000ft. Anyway I haven't had occasion to notice the jagginess. Not saying its not there just saying that if it is it certainlly hasn't made me say "This ruins everything....I must turn down my water effects to get rid of the jagginess" LOL. Maybe its the fact that I run 16x anistropic and 4 or 6 AA on my Radeon 9500. But the pic posted originaly looked right on the deck, just a few hundred feet up which is why I said what I said about normal flying :)
