Registry locations for FS9 addons

Featured Replies

Hi guys,After some consideration I'm transferring my FS9 installation to Win XP 64 (but without doing a full reinstall) and I need a few questions answered regarding the registry:1) Are all of the registry keys for FS9 addons located in "HKLM / Software" ?2) Are there any other registry keys of interest in "HKLM / Software / Microsoft" apart from the FS9 keys?3) Do I chuck all of my FS9 addon keys from my old OS to the "HKLM / Software / Wow6432Node" folder as they are 32-bit keys? :(

If you reformat your disk (not necessary I believe but not sure to go from XP32 to XP64) then some of the keys related to copy protection might change or if they are based on your O/S ID and/or HD volume number idents (not volume labels which you can control). If you are a Radar Contact user all info is in the rc folder but you will have to reregister some dlls perhaps in syswow 64 instead of system 32. RC does not use the registry. It depends on how you migrate your upgrade.I'd keep a safe copy of my local folder and user folder based software keys.

I don't believe you will be able to copy over your registry entries effectively from the old box to the new, either. Your OS will be looking in the old place for each installation, and each will simply not be there.
