February 22, 200422 yr Hi community! I'm looking for a challenging freeware airliner panel. So, what in your opinion is the best technical - style free airliner panel at the moment?
February 22, 200422 yr IMHO,1) Richard Probst's 727 panel, available here in the library. Wonderful if you like to (hand-)fly the old iron. Also works w/ FS9 flawlessly.2) Eric Marciano's A320 panel, available on his website. Top notch, even the MCDU is modeled to some extent. Some others I have tried, but they dont come close to those two. However, I havent tried each and every one of them :-)Greetings,celticmatrix
February 22, 200422 yr Alain Capt's MD-11 panel set is also great. It's set up to interface with iFDG's awesome new MD-11. There is even a pax and cargo load out feature included.-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
February 22, 200422 yr Hi,Sorry I don't have exactly have a 'zip' filename for you. But Samuli's MD-80 Panel blew my mind, hehe. The file that installs the panel is named 'Samulis_MD80_v1.01_FS9.exe'. Like I said, I don't have the name of the zip file that contains that installer, but I thought it was a good one to add here.I haven't tried this one but I have heard it is a good one. I see that Erick recommended it. Anyway, it's the Stellan Hilmerby DC-9 panel with a SAS DC-9 aircraft for FS2004...http://www.hilmerby.com/There ya go, a link for that one. ;)Cheers,JimP.S. If anyone knows where the file for 'Samulis_MD80_v1.01_FS9.exe' is could you please let me know? This is an excellent panel and I can't figure out where I got it now. The .exe is about 14 MB's in size so it's not exactly a small deal for a panel file.
February 22, 200422 yr Have to join the chorus 'bout hilmerbys DC9.But if I you want something completely new why not try the new Tupolev 154b from here:http://tu154.avsim.ru/files.html (click on the link which says 12MB) or use this link: http://tu154.avsim.ru/model/pt_tu154b2_v9.0.exe there is a tutorial in english here: http://tu154.avsim.ru/index.html Mind you the tutorial doesn't cover the navigation system as it requires a a tutorial of its own. I'm told that one is in the making though.it works just fine in FS9 (in spite of what it says there) and it will take you a while to crack it - a real challange//Mike
February 22, 200422 yr Hi,I found a download link for Samuli's MD-80 panel for FS2002 and FS2004!http://ss-md80.artshost.com/download.htmScreenshots of this kick butt panel can be seen here. Check it out!http://ss-md80.artshost.com/screenshots.htmCheers,Jim
February 22, 200422 yr How about Oleksiy Frolov's DH8C. :-outta http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/User_files/3e72a43942b48d2b.jpg There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".- unknown "My daddy gives me up, to fight for you"- a US Military Members Child

February 23, 200422 yr Jim,In Samuli's panel, how do one switches radios? I've read the systems document, but can't find an answer. Dave Vega dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
February 23, 200422 yr I have to put in a vote for Frolov's Dash8.But you should also take a look at the Bill Grabowski's ERJ panel. Its an excellent panel that has everything except an FMC. The overhead is fairly complex as well (not as complex as the Dash8 but good enough).
February 23, 200422 yr It's starting to sound like a broken record, but I'd rank the Frolov's Dash 8 at No. 1, Richard Probst's 727 at No. 2 and Hilmerby's DC9 as well. The Antonov 24 is great too, provided you can read Russian.BlairCYOW
February 24, 200422 yr Hello Dave Vega,Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by 'switch radios'. There are the NAV radios on the main panel and then the COM radios are on the throttle quadrant. If you are more specific as to what it is that you're trying to figure out for the radios perhaps I can help.Regards,Jim
February 24, 200422 yr Jim,There are two comm radios on the pedestal, labeled com1 and com2. They are just above the ADF radio. By default, com1 is active. How do I use com2? If there's one, I can't find the com1/com2 switch button. Hope this is specific enough. February 24, 200422 yr Dave,Yes, that's specific enough and now I understand. Good question! Well, so far the only way I found is to assign a keyboard command for this. I assigned 'Shift+C' to select COM 1 and 'Shift+V' to select COM 2. I tried it and it works like a charm. Seems you were looking for a click spot to do this and I don't see one for it either. So, for me anyway, a keyboard command it is.Hope that helps,Jimhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64493.jpg
