My wallet is open, Where are the A/C?

Recommended Posts

I always wondered if making PMDG quality A/C could be done in xplane, I am glad to see that not only can it be done that has been done on a high level. I will probably get it eventually, my passion is with 3 engine transport A/C DC-10's and MD-11's. It does hold promise though. How does it handle in the wind is it much smoother than default aircraft, I see a ton of people complaining about unrealistic turbulence.

It depends on the aircraft, a payware aircraft with a good flight model will probably fly and feel smoother then your default aircraft. Xplanes wind and turb are a little overpowered but alot of the instability people are having might just be because of the flight model, not the wind. It all depends on how much time the developer puts into the flightmodel.

I would like to hear from those who have the crj200. How is the turbulence with this airplane? I am thinking of buying it, it looks really sweet. However, if it turns around its axis while on the ground with engines off, I probably won't be getting it. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Hi Richard, I have it and love it. They just released an update that some of us haven't received yet, so I can't speak on the new features. This is one aircraft that behaves very well. I actually really like the turbulence in the CRJ. It sometimes make me want to tighten up my seat belt, not too much bouncing around, just enough to give a real sense of realism. I've never flown one, but in this, you really get the feeling you are. Always hand fly on final, can be a challenge, but a lot of fun.The engines quit on me once at 31,000ft. I fly by myself, so it was a scramble to try and get the engines fired up again. Well, with 3,000ft to spare I got them going and we all lived to see another day.Glen

I tested the crj at 60 knots direct crosswind with the parking brake and engines off. The plane was moving on the ground. I toned it back to 50 kts and it didnt move. I also did some flying in these winds and it was pretty stable. I did even manage a 50 kt crosswind landing although it was really difficult, but stable non the less.

I like the sound of that. I might just buy it, then. Love jets. I have flown a lot with the f33, but would like a good jet (have several hundred hours in pmdg jets, and they are awesome, to say the least.). Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
