February 24, 200422 yr I have a X-45 and was wondering how to program a button for online ATC so I don't have to use the keyboard?Right now I use the `key for RW to transmit. JeffG
February 24, 200422 yr I have an X-45 and have it programmed to do a variety of commands including ATC. Let me know if you want to check out my profile that I made. Basically for the ATC I used the little mouse cursor and button on the throttle. Its programed to handle zooming and head positioning on mode 1 but does ATC on mode two...IE the button is assigned the "`" key while the cursor hat is transmits 1 2 3 or 4 depending on which way I push it. Up is 1, forward is 2, etc. I rarely need to access numbers higher than 4 but if I do I just use the keyboard. In theory the hat can work as 8 position instead of 4 so you could do 1-8 on it but I don't think it would work that well.
February 24, 200422 yr Could you send me your profile for the X45?My email is [email protected] JeffG
February 24, 200422 yr I tried this with my hotas cougar and didnt have any sucess. I wonder if I need to explore it more? Anybody with this stick have any suggestions. Thanks Andrew
February 25, 200422 yr I sent it to you...Oh one other thing...I deleted all button assignments within FS itself because they can interfere with your programmed assignments. Excpet I do have the rotaries programmed within FS....IE the side Rotary I have assigned to the Elevator Trim Axis and the top Rotary I have assigned to the Mixture Axis.Hope this helps you at least get an idea how to do it yourself if you don't like my setup :)
February 25, 200422 yr Author As an option you may want to look at Bill Morad's excellent ATC clickable gauge. It is here at Avsim (atc-panel.zip). Unfortunately Bill has since passed away but the gauge works like a charm. You can add it to any panel. Seehttp://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?SendImage=11786for an image of the gauge.Regards, Bob.
