Can't print Navigation Log

Featured Replies

Okay, I did a search and turned up nothing which makes me wonder if I'm just a bonehead but I have been using the FS sims since FS98 and have never had this problem. When I view the nav log and then attempt to print it, the full screen FS window reverts back to my desktop as if switching applications and then... nothing happens. No printer icon, no activity, just a FS2004 button-click sound.I've chekced printer settings and all are normal. This is my first install of 2004 and a return to the forums after a long absence. I'm embarrassed to ask this but does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Not sure if it was here or at All Nodes Busy .com, but a user had the same problem because their print association was wrong. You can search here and there for the thread.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Last time I tried printing a navigation log, I had the same problem... And, if I remember right, FS9 just "wasn't right" and was problematic for the rest of that FS session.... Although, it's been quite awhile since I last tried to print it, so maybe my memory is playing tricks on me (again).... :-lol

If you have WinXP open Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab, select HTM, select Advanced button. Look on the list for Print and printto. If you have Microsoft Office products installed the Print will have the following when you select it and Edit:Action: &PrintApplication used to perform action: "(drive:)Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficemsohtmed.exe" /p %1Use DDE: checkedDDE Message: (blank)Application: msohtmedDDE Application not running: (blank)Topic: SystemPrintto will have the following when you select it and Edit:Action: printtoApplication used to perform action: rundll32.exe (drive:)WINDOWSSystem32mshtml.dll,PrintHTML "%1" "%2" "%3" "%4"Use DDE: checkedDDE Message: (blank)Application: mshtmlDDE Application not running: (blank)Topic: SystemNOTE: (drive:) equals the diskdrive were Microsoft Office products or WinXP is located. If you don't have Microsoft Office products installed, the Print may have the items listed for printto and you may not have a printto.W. Sieffert

Unfortunately, all my settings already match what you've addressed. I failed to provide some info on my system so maybe this will help: - Windows XP Professional - Office XP - Asus K8V with AthlonXP 64 3200I could leave more hardware details but I think -as it seems you do- that the problem is software related. I have no other print problems with any other app running. Any other ideas? Thanks for taking the time to help!David

Hi.Did you try to print in Window mode, Alt+Enter? TV

Hi, I just had this same problem. I'm pretty sure I triggered the problem when I was changing printer drivers earlier in the day. I deleted the fs9 config file (after backing it up) and restarted the sim. Printing for the nav log came back.
